They're still standing in this spooky ass forest getting snowed on, and he's wondering to himself what the big deal is, when Vash abruptly yelps and jumps back so suddenly that it actually makes Wolfwood jump too. He shifts back a few steps in the snow, already reaching to grab for his gun preemptively.
He doesn't have to ask. When Vash croaks "don't touch the trees", he can only assume this place made him see something. That seems to be a theme with it so far, showing you visions of awful things. It's his favorite.]
