Granted, it's not his fault the floor creaked and the door made a bunch of noise, this building is probably very old. That said, Wolfwood is an assassin: he was going to wake up eventually if enough noise was made, and that seems to have been his tipping point. He doesn't startle awake so much as he blearily peels his eyes open to the sight of an empty bed in front of him, which does get him to lift his head a bit quicker. He's about to get up and go find Vash so he can make good on kicking his stupid ass, but then he smells something cooking elsewhere.
It's enough to get him to settle back down with a rumbling grunt as he waits for his inevitable return. Without turning to look at the door, he speaks up as soon as he hears Vash come back in, his voice dripping with sarcasm.]
