It sounds strange, to hear him say it. That's probably why he hasn't... and if he'd asked, Add would say he didn't want to hear it. Because the Add in Heimr's memories is gone. He can't be that person, return those same feelings.

... but he wants to. It's intimidating, knowing that someone has an image in their minds of a better version of you. An Add who knew how to love, how to make friends, be an older brother, a good son... but that version of him is gone. Overwritten. He's a different person now. Someone who never made a friend for eighteen years. Someone who grew up an only child. Someone who never really got to know his own mother.

Would it be okay, to accept love as someone like that?

But it's too much to ask for. He... said it doesn't feel right. So maybe Add needs to do better first. Love is something earned, even if the metric is confusing. He has to try harder, to be worthy.
