as she stands in the rain, eye closed, her legs shake. she digs her feet into the sand, even. and as the rain falls, more and more of the little flowers along her arm fall off. the chains seem to wilt. it's not enough. especially with the forest screaming at her to get back into the cave, don't let the water touch her, but- she's doing her best. and for the first time in a long time, she can breathe a bit easier. )
