netbook ✧ after subnautica, probably

[written in slow, neat handwriting, like someone is trying very hard to make it not look messy:]

Does anyone else here think that colors are weird?

Just wondering! Since no one has said anything about it! And it's been two weeks and everything still makes my eyes hurt.

Uh-huh. Blueberries are dark blue. Banana is a lighter shade of yellow, peach is a lighter shade of pink, and plum is a darker shade of purple.

i'd say more than double but that sounds about right.

and a few! purple, pink, black and gold.

( to make a point, she's written each one in it's corresponding color. the gold glitters. )

I can't believe you just asked me that question. Where's your culture?

It sounds like time for an intervention.

A series of pictures that, when put into sequence and ran through a device, portray the actual motion that was captured on film. It's a very popular medium for storytelling!

I don't think we have access to movies here, but I can certainly show you the next best thing.

( she adds a few gold sparkles herself. )

white! when you look at the clouds, the lightest part of them is white. or paper, most standard writing paper where i'm from is white.

That's green! That's probably the most common shade of green people think when they say "green". But the pine needles on some of the trees here are also green, just a darker one. :O

how about this?

( "this" being an equally glittery silver ink instead. )

this is silver. many metals are this color, but in art it can also be used for the moon and stars. the moon goddess here is even titled the Silver Moon.

yes, and her wife, the Golden Sun. and apparently the stars are their kids?

the moon goddess is named Ourania. she was very kind. we haven't made contact with Beiwe yet though.

they used to, at least. by the well is statues for ourania and beiwe, if you're interested. we're still learning about them ourselves. as for the stars, joshua knows more than i do!

which is really sad given that i am also a star. but not like the stars here are. they take the form of small celestial animals, while i very much do not!

(he takes care of one. it looks like a hedgehog and he is VERY cute.)

apparently.
it's new to me too.
i probably should have realized sooner, but i needed another star to recognize me.

You're a star???? Like a real one??

[He's been just quietly stalking everything here since that's less embarrassing than having to ask about stuff himself, but hello!!]

Who's writing this? How can you tell who is who on these things??

[The post is obviously from Loop, but he doesn't know anyone else's handwriting.]

I guess the idea that the perception of the world around us is based in our brain's ability to process light in different ways is kind of crazy when you think about it.

But uh, I guess you're asking because color is new, right? Man, that sounds bonkers to just get surprised with when waking up in a new place. No wonder your eyes hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if you just had a constant migraine 24/7, tbh.
