[He does jump, but luckily for Mayoi this isn't the first time he's met someone with an appearance he'd deem unusual. He seems friendlier than the voices he can hear outside, but Min still seems uncertain despite his reassurance.]
Are you sure? I don't...
[Whatever else he had to say is cut off by the voices outside again, Min-Gi turning to face the door this time. But for all his fears, Mayoi does seem right. No one else comes in.
[It seems like a bad one. If this town hadn't been so near Min knows he probably wouldn't have been so lucky, strange creatures or not. He still feels frozen to the bone, though that's not surprising with how severe the weather is out there.
Once he searches himself, it doesn't take long for him to find the amulet. Out there it hadn't occurred to him to do more than check his palms before he'd decided he needed to find civilization, but now he's been warned he's quick to take it off.]
Weeks ...it's been truly wretched. The barrage of snow has felt akin to some dramatic novel. [The kind that usually leads people to going nuts and murdering people, which Mayoi tactfully does not say.]
[When he produces the amulet, Mayoi nods and then points at the fire place.]
Into the fire has dispatched them nicely so far. Once it's gone, you should feel much better.
They have winters like this where I come from, but at least you don't have to worry about the voices.
[Besides, he's usually better dressed for it if he has to be out at all. He's still shivering, something that's only made more obvious by the way the amulet shakes in his hand.]
Are you sure we won't get in trouble? I don't want us to get thrown out...
[Not with the snow like that, and something that sounds eerily like his own voice still audible outside.]
With some luck, they will not be a frequent appearance once this winter is over.
[His question actually gives him some pause. That is certainly a look of sympathy because had Mayoi not become so used to this place, he might have worried the same thing.]
No one owns this Inn. I think someone has begun looking after it, but it’s a communal building we all share. No one has the authority to kick anyone else out.
[Not that he has any intention of being here that long, but he's trying to help him and it would be rude to be immediately dismissive of the problems they're having here. Min will bide his time, at least for the moment.
Instead he follows Moyoi's instructions, throwing the amulet into the flames. Maybe it's his imagination, but watching it melt away he already feels a little better.]
Thanks. You're sure those things won't come in here?
[He's trying not to doubt the one person who's trying to help him, but even without seeing whatever it was that had been imitating his voice he's scared of them. He'd prefer not to risk an actual encounter with one of them.]

Not yet, anyway.]

They have been haunting us since the onset of this blizzard, but I've not yet seen them cross a threshold.
[Mayoi will gesture to Min-Gi with a clawed hand.]
Do you have ...ah, a strange amulet on your person...? If so, you must destroy it.

What do I do with it?
[Smash it? That might be the quickest way.]
