The Prisoner's Dilemma, but worse
A hypothetical thought experiment.
Assume the whole world, including those outside the Grove, have been given a button. They can choose to press or not press the button. If a majority of the world (so more than 50%) presses the button, then everyone who didn't press the button dies. If a majority of the world refused to press the button, everyone lives.
Do you press the button?

Hm... Well, I can't presume to occupy such a role, so I'm afraid I can't save you! You'll have to want to press it for yourself.

I don't need to be saved! It isn't a matter of saving at that point, anyway. People who don't push the button, or do, have their reasonings, and they shouldn't be condemned for either option.
I just want to know everyone's thought process. It's interesting to me. Maybe someday, after studying you all, I'll be able to make my own choices, too. (⭒•͈ 𓎺 •͈ )
