[A new building has appeared in the South part of the Grove.

It's small. It's exterior seems dilapidated and old despite its newness, and- at least for the first day it's around- every window is shattered and decrepit looking. This is the building that Wolfwood had asked Heimr to build for him, and honestly he was not expecting it to look this bad. It's actually kindof impressive. Like, dude, you have...magic, how could you not have made it look less shitty than this-

But, well. If anybody is wondering what it is, the shape of its steeple and the fact its topped with a little cross would clue anyone in who has familiarity with such iconography that this is, in fact, a Church. A Church that has little by way of entertainment to offer guests, but should you wander inside...

It's just as run down as the outside, though mostly because there's plant life growing everywhere. It's structurally sound otherwise, mostly, and it's clear given how some of the vines have been torn away recently that someone is trying to clean it up. It's...depending on when you find it, either empty, or there's Elsword watching you from the rafters because Wolfwood hasn't figured out how to remove him yet. He may just live here now.

Other than that though, there are books that you can pull from behind the pews to read. Bibles- "Bibles"- that don't seem to conform to any religion so much as it talks about a strange sort of religious order surrounding "Plants", so that probably isn't suspicious at all.

At the head of the sanctuary is a pulpit where a pastor might presumably give a sermon, and off to the side of it is a confessional box. The confessional box has a piece of notebook paper taped to it that reads "5 shells for 15 minutes. Confess all of your sins. -W"

The pulpit itself, if this building's owner wasn't clear enough, has a little plaque on it that reads, as if sarcastically: Saint Nicholas]

I mean...spiritually, maybe. Definitely not literally.

[Bad things happen in churches all the time, Unfortunately.]

People find comfort in places like these, but otherwise it's no safer than any other building here.

[Wolfwood huffs, walking over to retrieve the broom he threw down in a huff.]

[He does remember this guy's cheese obsession. Maybe if they spar, Wolfwood will load his pockets with cheddar and throw it to distract him. Hm.]

[Wolfwood will find that works less well than he thinks it will—]

These thoughts can exist simultaneously. You haven't changed, but you are also different. I suppose it might be difficult to understand when you haven't lived as long as I have? You were still a bit grouchy, even if it was very cute back then, but you didn't carry this...

[His tail flicks, and he frowns.]

...sadness to you. You all came back here sad.

...yeah, well. It's been a couple centuries, and the world sucks now.

[He shrugs his shoulders.]

I'd be more surprised if people didn't come back sad.

[Zahliya is now Moping on the roof. He folds his arms over each other and puts his chin on his crossed wrists, and one still has to wonder how the fuck gravity hasn't removed him from the premises yet.]

...did no one get to reincarnate into a happier world than this one? Even the twins are different — they still argue like they used to, but it feels wrong now.

[Wolfwood almost scoffs. In what universe is any version of the world truly happy? Maybe he's just jaded, because he's from one of the worst you can come from, but still...]

Dunno what version of those two you think you used to know, but right now? You're lucky that they aren't tearing each other apart. They would be, if Knives had full access to his powers.

...who named him Knives? No wonder he has issues now.

[oh my god]

Between you and me, Little Wolf, [stop] he used to be the outgoing child. He used to love this world and everyone in it.

[It is the worst fucking thing, he knows.]

...I have a real hard time believing that. Like, I wouldn't even believe it if he told me himself.

It must be because he has strange abilities. He stabbed the inn. [Leans his cheek against his fist.] I do not expect you to believe it. No one believes the Gargoyle! He is only ageless and has memories of everyone's past lives here, but he must be lying! He only wants us for our cheese and marshmallow fluff!

[He flips his other wrist. The drama is necessary, thank you.]

But, more seriously, if all I knew was a little shit who stabbed walls and named himself after cutlery, I would have a difficult time believing it as well.

Now there's a shock.

[Wolfwood rolls his eyes. Nai, stabbing things? Say it ain't sooooo.]

But...it sounds like we know different Knives'. And to be frank, I feel like I barely know him at all. In my world, all he's ever been is...

[The reason his life is miserable-]

...ruthless. A tyrant.

...it makes me sad to hear. When all of you reincarnated into new lives, I had hoped you would be happier where you ended up. All of you come back saying it was worse, or being worse.

[Zahliya tries not to let it show on his face, but he is very, hopelessly miserable about this.]

Happiness must be difficult to achieve, no?

[Wolfwood, despite usually being a party pooper, didn't intend to upset Zahliya. At least, not on purpose.

He sighs, leaning back against the side of the church building.]

...it's harder than you think, even when you have everything you think you want. I dunno what my life was like here, but...I can promise you it was probably better than how it is now.

There is work to be done, then... more things to stab to keep everybody safe. I will try to make everybody happy... with violence, I suppose. Stabbing the Creature will fix all of our problems, and then you can all find your footing here.

[Zahliya voice: murder is okay]

[Good thing Wolfwood is also okay with murder!]

...that thing can be stabbed?

I have not tried or else the deed would be done by now, but I think so! Anything can be stabbed if you try hard enough! Or shot, in your case.

I simply have not encountered the false God in a stabbable form yet, or at all, but I am working on it.

Not really! I'm immune to the forest's corruption anyway, and Moder and I fought an endless battle for centuries. Oh, and the Lake Guardian is a bit of a mega-asshole, so we've fought, too.

I'm pretty sure I can just stab it.
