Phantom digs around the bones and finds that it's difficult to dig deep enough to unearth much. The further he digs, the more buried bones he'll hit. At one point, he manages to dig up a claw, though the claw is the size of him and would be difficult to carry. It, like much of the skeleton, had sunken into the mud long ago. That said, should Phantom continue digging, he'll see something that looks like the beginnings of a medallion, resting in between the neck bones and foreclaws of the dragon. It's crooked in the soil, seeming to have fallen and sunken at an angle instead of flat on the ground; it's made of gold, disc-shaped, and large enough to have been worn by a creature of this size. He will need to spend a long time excavating to uncover it fully to see what, exactly, is on it.
As for the spirit in the lake, it will communicate with Phantom! It speaks in a deep, guttural rumble, sounding more animal than human. The language is something close to Aegirian to his ears, aka Old Norse, but it will be translated as it reaches his brain.
"I am the Lake," it answers, "I am its Keeper, its Guardian, the one who cleans the drivel from this world. Would you know my name, mortal, or do you already have it?"
