...It seems like there isn't anything that would serve as a worthy offering indeed. If only he arrived with a Victorian gold coin or something of that sort...unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

In the end, Phantom settled with none, since he didn't want to risk incurring the sleeping dragon spirit's wrath, although he makes a mental note to perhaps return later (with a shovel too, hopefully).

That was actually how he first ended up on the edge of the lake, although...well, he truthfully didn't have high hopes when it comes to the Guardian. It already didn't feel very benevolent since the beginning, after all; he considered himself fortunate that he only saw a brief flash of those sharp teeth instead of experiencing them firsthand, and the subsquent splash of something going back into the lake, instead of being pulled into its depths by force.

Even so...he made a mental note of the clue that the spirit had imparted: One of those human-creatures or the others probably knows it.

With a sigh, he slowly takes a few steps away from the edge of the lake — the Guardian wasn't the only one who's laughing at him, since the VOICE in his mind did, too. A howling, amused laughter.

He couldn't lie that he feels a bit...dejected (and his ears was flopping down a fair bit), even if he didn't expect much, considering the fact that this was his first attempt of investigating and all, and he was unprepared. Perhaps he should just stop here and call it a day.

And yet...he stepped away from the lake in earnest, and cast his gaze around the place. Again, not expecting much, but perhaps there is something else that he could look into...? Have some mercy on him, he looked like a sad, pathetic cat at the moment.
