This is Gnosis Edelweiss-Silverash.

For those of you who weren't aware: Last night, Mizuki was killed by some sort of snake. The bites on his person are conclusive with snake bites, and unless any other strange creatures here can match the bite pattern, we can rule out other animals as causes. These bites, however, were marked with black suns.

I think you know what this means, but in case it's unclear: The False God has taken it upon himself to kill one of us.

This note exists as a notice. Mizuki, being Seaborn, should be immune to poison, but I found a powerful venom in his bloodstream. I'll give medical notes to anyone interested, as the effects are quite dire. With that being said, a statement needs to be made.

If you think you are immune to poison, you are not. This was demonstrated loudly and clearly without room for argument. Do not get bitten or scratched by anything. Do not let unfamiliar animals into your homes, and do not engage with them if you see them. If you get attacked, I advise you to put them down.

I'd hate to see more death here.

Also, as a reminder: The False God is not to be addressed by any other names other than the most derogatory things you can think of. Pure Vanilla covered this point and I will not be rehashing it at this time.

[Having some time to process this news has done nothing to make Dipper less angry, sadly. He knows it feeds off anger, but unfortunately Dipper is fifteen and Mizuki was one of his favorite people here.]

Moder and Zahliya have been acting agitated ever since the damn thing was named. I'm not sure if you've noticed.

[And he doesn't regularly see Sinann or especially Callan, but he can imagine the same is true there.]

...I haven't, but that's mainly because I've been pretty preoccupied since we got back to the grove. Have they said anything about all this?

I believe Zahliya is completely illiterate. I don't know about the others. I do know this: Zahliya is normally quite silly if you catch him at the right time, and Moder tends toward relative peace. This is not how either of them were when I first met them.

I tried to offer Zahliya food and he told me he was busy. He is the single most food-motivated Guardian here, and he usually wants whatever everyone else has, like a dog. Moder in particular simply... watches everyone like a predator on the hunt. It's uncanny.

[Gnosis if you are throwing him a bunch of interesting info in an attempt to get him to calm down ...it's working. There's a few dots on the paper for a moment, indicative of him tapping his pen in thought on the page.]

...To me, that sounds like confirmation. If Moder, who was really chill while we were at the beach, is watching for one of us to step out of line, then the odds must be pretty high it was one of us, after all.

God, this sucks.

I'm not sure if it gave itself the name. I suppose that could be it, but based on Pure Vanilla's earlier writings, it's likely that it was one of us. It could be that the power of names in this place has been misunderstood, in which case, that's a conversation that can be revisited, but it's also just as likely that the bad actor involved knew this would screw the rest of us.

The Guardians are meant to oversee their domain and protect us. I can't imagine their jobs being that much more difficult has delighted them.
