[ Moder moving around the Grove in general is something that everyone should notice on a daily basis. A building-sized horror-moose just has that effect, really. But when she is full sprinting through the forest and getting back into the Grove, it's perhaps even more noticeable. Hard to miss you, Moder.

Regardless, Mizuki and Ain returned to the Grove and are... mostly unscathed. Mizuki looks completely fine, actually. Ain is a little scuffed and beaten, but perhaps that's not so easy to see when there's a whole sea jelly clinging onto him.

Though he will pry himself off of Moder and Ain once he realizes where he is and...

...

He has a lot of apologies and hugs to give out. He isn't sure where to begin, really. ]

[ Ahuh, young man, and he knows how much everyone loves you, and how much you love everyone. He wouldn't put it past Mizuki to begin trying to offer his help right off the bat if someone needed it.

Not that Pure Vanilla can honestly condemn it...

And that sleep/dream thing is fascinating, but doesn't sound really restful. Pure Vanilla doesn't think he'd be able to do it. Especially now, with Shadow Milk and Suri both having invaded his head.

And he smiles and nods his head a little. ]

Still, I'm glad you got to see him again. Talking may help, but seeing someone after so long.

[ Well "so long". But still. He squishes Mizuki. ]

Mizuki nudges Pure Vanilla at this point, putting on his own frown as he's just increasingly more worried for him. He knows briefly about the things that he'd been through if Gnosis' netbook post was anything to go off of. Which, by the way, was very upsetting to read through- ]

« It's okay if you're not happy. »

I-

[ It's a startled noise, and he actually blinks. Then looks amused and tilts his head to rest it against Mizuki's, shakes his head. ]

I promise you, I am happy.

[ And he is.

He's just. So tired. ]

[mooninthewater]

« Okay, then, in that case, I am putting you under house arrest for the time being!! You're gonna rest for the whole week, Mister Pure Vanilla. If I see you so much as doing stretches, you're gonna get an earful from me!!!! »

Oh.

[ For a moment he looks absolutely flabbergasted. He hasn't been under house arrest since his academy days, and got caught sneaking out to meet with White Lily.

Let alone placed under house arrest by his own child!

Then he laughs, warm and merry sounding. ]

Ah! I give, I give. Very well, my dear. For a week, I shall simply relax. I will not burden myself beyond my crocheting. I offer my vow.

[ Good! That's what he wants to hear. He just fwumps against Pure Vanilla for now, then. And for a while he just sits there, tapping through his phone to scroll through his text to speech options idly. After some time he does turn off the cutesy anime girl for the default AI voice, and decides to ask: ] « Is Mister Dark Cacao treating you okay? »

[ The flop against him makes him smile, utterly pleased, and simply takes the time to snuggle Mizuki. If he had his needles within reach, he would crotchet around the other and simply hold him as he does, but alas, they're stuffed into his basket.

The question that breaks the silence makes him tilt his head, his brows furrowing lightly. ]

Of course he is, darling. What brought this on?

« Worried. Affogato said I shouldn’t worry, but it’s hard not to. I cannot tell personally if Mister Dark Cacao is a good person or not. »

Ah. It is true, Cacao can be rather... reticent, and thus it sometimes makes it difficult to discern his true thoughts and feelings. And Affogato Cookies situation is unique, in that he was around Cacao at the worst time for both of them.

[ He sighs softly, raising his hands to stroke over Mizuki's hair, fixing the little strands. ]

But he has never harmed me, in our thousands of years together. I trust and love him with my very soul. He is quite the marshmallow inside!

[mooninthewater]

« I mean no offense when I say this, but you are the type to see the best in anyone, Mister Pure Vanilla. »

[ Pot calls kettle black, more at 11. ]

[ That makes him snort a soft little laugh and he gives Mizuki the most pointed 'look' he can, his expression amused. ]

The apple does not fall far from the tree, my darling.

« There’s a difference. You choose to see the best in people. I just don’t know what’s right or wrong. »

You do yourself a disservice. You show compassion, care, and kindness to all. You may say you do not know what is right or wrong, but sometimes it takes someone like that to reach out to those who need it. You are free of judgement, of preconceived notions.
