it's world philosophy day!
It's World Philosophy Day. (Guestimating, based on the lack of a calendar here.)
Who's celebrating? Who would like to prove that they Are by deciding to Think for once?

[ The fact he knows the quote I think therefore I am, and the fact he can write therefore, should account for something right? Just ignore the rest. ]

I very much see that. At the very least, you understood what I was referencing. Perhaps you Are after all.

According to the philosopher himself, if you have the capacity to doubt, you must exist.
I realise this pokes holes in the argument of other things around us existing (like bugs, or plants, which typically don't have the capacity to doubt), which was sort of the point.
no subject
how that prove the point if we know stuff exists but it aint like doubtin
no subject
We don't know anything else exists, given that logic, do we? The grass and the sky and the trees could all be fake and included in the simulation.

You can imagine our Philosophers of old were quite interested in this thought experiment, once Witches became legend and religious icons only. Do we exist because we think, or do we think because we exist.
no subject
[I just decided Descartes would've been a bird, sue me.]
I enjoy such thought experiments as well. Looking at the lives we lead through a lens of questioning leads to interesting ways of thinking and learning. I'm fond of this principle, of course, but also of the allegory of the cave, and the age old question of "if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"
I did make Sesa cry by grilling him on the latter, though.

[ Well thank goodness this is paper so no one can hear him laugh about poor Sesa. ]
Poor dear. I do not blame him, however! It is a very mind bending thought. Does reality exist when there is no one around to observe it? Do we shape our surroundings by our perceptions? "The mind is everything. What you think you become."
no subject
There are things in reality which are provable, but we may lack the means to prove them. The way the human mind and the surrounding worlds with which it inhabits are truly fascinating.
no subject
Oh no offense taken, my friend! The reality of my world seems to be an anomaly in many others realities. Yet it fascinates me, as well! After all, even in my world there is theory there was Desserts before there was Life. Baking before there was Imbuing, so I yet wonder if the Witches did not see into other Worlds and Imbue what they saw into their bakery, or direct the flow of Life Powder in such a way to mimic what they saw. Your Descaretes became our Dessertes. I too wonder if the Rise and Fall of our Empires and Kingdoms mimic your own. Ah, but that is another line of thought entirely.
Mm not only lack the means, but every time we discover something new, our perception of what is probable and provable shifts. Before I heard tales of a Cookie that traveled the space between Stars, made of the very dust of them, I would not have thought it possible. Yet I trust those who say they have met them! Our realities widen every day.

Anyway, I'm curious to know — I'd love to explore the solar system, personally.
TYPES THIS REPLY ALL OVER AGAIN and it will never be as good as it was pensive
Ah, I see the fascination to know what exists above us, but I find myself lacking the desire to reach my fingers so far, when I have yet to explore the entirety of my own world! What lays in the Oceans deepest depths, what exists over the farthest expanse of it? Only when I have truly plumped all I could from my world, will I then turn my gaze up.
:pensivewobble: emote here
Most of it is Seaborn. Lots of Seaborn. The city of Aegir is underwater, or so the rumour goes, but no one has heard from it in eons. It's something of a historical mythology to the rest of Terra now. I have no reason to doubt the rumour is true, based on my interacts with certain people at Rhodes Island — but I would still like to see it for myself.
I do wonder what would be in your oceans, relatedly. Are they made of water like ours?

Though. Actually... as he thinks.. ]
Yes, they are, though you will find them quite carbonated at times, and I believe we have stories similar as well! A Mermaid civilization, who control the Tides and have powers which we have not much studied, as they keep themselves away from Land Cookies. Whether they are Cookies themselves or, like the Dragons, can turn into Cookies at will I am unsure. Nor am I certain if they are the only thing that dwell in the waters.
For there is tale of a vast continent far further than any have gone before, the home of the Witches. And we know the Witches to be human sized, so surely their own creatures must be just as large. Ah but our creation mythos are well and truly all over the board, so I do not know if that is true. We do have gummy whales, however! And I know a fair tale of a large Kraken!
[ Who may or may not have transformed herself into a tiny squid upon suffering amnesia but he doesn't know that. ]

Before the lot of you came back, I was completely alone in the ruins of the town. Ydalir came by when she could, but then it was back to the empty void.

In any case, you're not alone anymore. Relieving, isn't it?

Your jacket selling business would make a lot of money there. :)

Though, I can't guarantee I wouldn't clonk a few people on the head for what's happened to the two of you.
