[Yeah Flamebringer is like Zenos if Zenos didn't pop a boner every time he killed someone. Kind of.]
Phones aren't gonna work here anyway. I have mine, but all I can do is look at photos and old texts, and use the camera — I can't actually do anything with it otherwise. We're basically living in the sticks, so get used to it.
[She flops back onto the floor dramatically. This sucks, thanks for teleporting her to the middle of nowhere, Joshua. What kind of game is this supposed to be?!]
I tend to the greenhouses and read, or play with my cats. Lots of people read, most of us hang out at the cafe during operating hours. A lot of us are the outdoorsy types when the weather isn't shit — fishing and whatnot. Lots of sparring. You're not gonna find a lot of couch potatoes with games here.
[At first she scowls, thinking the video game couch potato remark was a Direct Attack, but she hadn't mentioned her hyperfocus being Pokemon GO FanGO, so he was just pulling that remark out of his ass, as far as she could figure. Thus, she won't try to start a fight over it... this time.]
I've lived in the city my whole life, so I've never exactly been outdoorsy.
[Her face scrunches at the word. Ew, nature.]
When you say greenhouses, do you mean like, flowers and stuff?
Yeah. The one in the clinic has mostly medicinal plants, but there's another one that someone built in the school that has a bunch of flowers. I raise other ones in my bedroom. Lots of people here garden, actually.
[Flowers bloom on his horns, so y'know, uh. Tracks, right?]
[Sitting down by the fire, tail wagging... his hyperfixation.]
Sure, but once they sprout, they don't take long to look interesting. After they grow to their full size, you have to do regular care still. Fertilizing, trimming the dead leaves and branches, turning them so they get even sunlight — that sort of thing. Some of them have to be re-potted, like cacti, which grow horizontally as much as they grow vertically. Some species don't grow tall, though, and instead grow wide.
[There's a very audible slap slap of his tail on the wooden floors.]
With seedlings, planting them in a glass pot lets you see the roots sprout. They're not great in terms of retaining moisture, but they're good for monitoring growth. Some seeds simply won't sprout, so it's better not to waste your time on the dead ones, obviously.
[Oh.... she has Activated(tm) this man. This is quite a stark difference from Man Who Fight For Fun, especially with his tail thumping on the floor like an excited dog, and it's kinda cute?? She will indulge him, because deep inside, she is a nice gorl who like people, just a little. Don't tell anyone though.
Sitting up instead of laying pathetically across the floor, she props her chin in her hands, watching him as he speaks.]
Huh. I never really stopped to think about how much work it takes to keep flowers happy. Maybe I'll try growing something while I'm here, too... what's the most loser-proof flower for dummies you can think of?
[He really enjoys gardening. And fighting. But if he had to pick, honestly, he'd probably prefer to spend his time gardening, since most battles mean very little to him in terms of worth.]
There's a few. Marigolds, daffodils, morning glories — but be careful where you plant them, since they self-propagate and they'll choke up the rest of your plot if you don't watch them — sunflowers, asters, and pansies. People say snapdragons are easy, but that's only because they're hardy and will stand up to winter storms. I find that the joy of snapdragons is when they "snap" — and if they're not properly cared for, they won't be firm enough to make that little snap motion when you gently squeeze the flowers.
[If your snapdragon game is weak and they don't snap, you should be ashamed, basically.]
You can pot most of those safely, actually. I wouldn't do it with sunflowers, but it's the middle of goddamn winter anyway, and they're not gonna grow nice in the greenhouse.
[Too much Indoor Environment in there, not enough Open Air and Clear Skies.]
To be honest with you, I'd plant morning glories in a pot anyway, just because they're so prone to spreading like a plague across any open field.
Yeah, you could do that. I'll help you out, so you won't be alone there. There's a ton of other people who maintain the greenhouses who would know how to handle something like that, too, in case I'm not around.
[Or asleep. He might just be napping with his cats.]
[Having people be nice to her for no reason is weird!!!! She wants to prickle up a bit, hackles raised like a cat, but she refrains as best she can. Time with Rindo and the other Twisters had taught her just a little bit of self care, after all. Sometimes people just want to be nice to you!!!]
That'd be nice. Or whatever.
[She almost seems a little bit embarrassed due to the way she tacks that last bit on, tucking her chin a little further into her knees as if to obscure her face a little.]

Then what do people do for fun?

[She frankly has no idea the timeframe in which a flower grows tbh she's never thought about it very hard--]
