Hey so I've been meaning to ask but since people keeping having weddings and getting engaged and talking about officiating weddings I've had weddings on the brain and I was wondering--

Did anyone lose a pair of wedding rings like, a few months ago? Min-Gi and I found them like WAY back when we first got here and kept meaning to ask around if they belonged to someone.

Where did you find them exactly?

I found mine in the room we're staying in at the inn under a bunch of stuff. And Min-Gi found his outside somewhere.

He found it outside? Like, on the ground?

Yeah, I think so? He was outside and came back and was like "what did you DO TO THE ROOM" because I kind of messed it up, and I showed him the ring I found and he had one too.

That's pretty weird that he found it just lying there on the ground.


Did you try them on? How big are they?

I dunno if Min-Gi ever tried his on, but the one I found was a little too big for me. Definitely didn't fit.

So you should try the other one on, to compare! Plus like, don't be weird about it but how big are your hands?

Don't encourage him. He shouldn't have even tried the first ring on.

Why not? It's not like it'll hurt anyone.

They're personal. They mean something to someone even if it turns out they aren't here anymore. It wouldn't be right to play around with them like they're just some toy.

Wouldn't it be more meaningful if we were able to learn something about those people from what was left behind?

Like what? Their ring size?

To start with. I was thinking I'd follow up with "did you show the local blacksmith?" And then maybe "how do you find a ring in the woods?"

We didn't show anyone, and it wasn't in the woods. It was actually in town. I found it out in the snow, then when I got back Ryan had somehow found one that matched in our room.

Still suspicious. But there's a first step for you. That guy's been here longer than any of us. Heck, he might have even made them.

It's not a bad idea. We're more likely to learn something than by keeping them shut in a drawer and hoping someone happens to ask about them.

It's worth a shot. And if that doesn't pan out we can return to the "odds against you finding that were incredible" angle.

It was weird. Especially with us finding them both at the same time.

Almost like someone put them there for you to find.

If it had been outside for a long time, probably someone else would have found it before you.

I guess it is pretty weird, but why would they want us to find them? It's not like we've done a good job at finding their actual owners.

The forest is haunted, time is broken, and baby dragons are giving out horns. I wouldn't be even a little bit surprised if it was some elaborate cosmic prank.

It wouldn't be the first time the universe decided to mess with us.

I dunno, average hand size? I've never really thought about it.

A little smaller than Min-Gi's, probably?

That tells me basically nothing. Hand size can be a rough indicator of body size so it could give us some small hint about who lost them

[ Whoever lost them probably disappeared or died a long time ago but listen, she is bored, let her make up a story about these star-crossed lovers. ]

So, someone a little bigger than me? I guess?? It wasn't like insanely big but definitely too big for me.
