[Netbook] Baby's (grown man) first Netbook
Hi there! I'm Lodi – I'm a relatively new face around here and I've only met a handful of you, but I know tensions are... high, at the moment, for obvious reasons. So I thought even a smidgen of a distraction might be good for some folks! I'd like to get to know everyone regardless, so if you'd humor me:
Or, frankly, you can just talk at me about whatever. I'm open to conversation. Thanks!
[The handwriting is, like, exceptionally, painstakingly neat. Whomever was writing this wanted to make it easy for anyone to read.]
- What's one phrase that's common where you're from, but might confuse someone who isn't? Bonus points if you explain the meaning.
- I'd like to know about your star systems! Do you have a favorite star or constellation? Does it mean something special to you?
- Can you dance? Would you like to learn? Would you be open to someone in the Grove (not naming names!) teaching you?
- What language or languages do you speak?
Or, frankly, you can just talk at me about whatever. I'm open to conversation. Thanks!

1. I'm sorry to hear that about the expectations placed on you. Frankly, putting any kind of exceptional weight on a child should be avoided entirely instead of trying to help with platitudes, but that's just – my personal opinion. Sorry, not to be harsh. I'm glad it's a little easier for you now. I hope that continues.
2. Gotcha. Let me try and wrap my head around this. When you mention magical engineering, is there… a specific example you might be able to give? I can grasp the idea of healing magic, but I'm struggling to conceptualize the engineering portion. And I can understand why something like Dark Moon Magic might be forbidden if it was only limited by someone's imagination and personal ability… if it can be used for basically anything, sounds like it might be dangerous in the wrong person's hands.
3. That sounds nice! One of my favorite things to learn about a culture, not including their language, was their music. Especially when it was so deeply interwoven with the everyday, like it sounds like it was for this kingdom you're talking about. Have you had occasion to learn about any new music during your time here that you've become fond of as well?
4. Makes sense! Do you find you wish you were speaking your other known languages more, or do you not mind the dip in proficiency so much? I know some people tend to lament struggling after getting a little rusty from not using it as much.
CRUSTY.....GOMEN
1. It tends to happen, I think. The nature of my baking was rather fantastical, so I believe they thought me a prophecy child of sorts.
2. This is more Pure Vanilla Cookie's expertise, as it was developed by his kingdom. Heavy labor was conducted by waffle constructs fueled and programmed with magic, though they are a lot like automatons you may find in other realms.
3. Yes! The Faeie Kingdom's writing system was even based in music; if you wanted to find something in the library, you had to know it's score.
4. I do miss being able to speak my home language, but I'm also... very old. Without practice, it was going to happen eventually.
