The month drags on and on. Every morning someone casts Fireball. Every night, someone’s summon bursts through a window, steals your food, and runs. Luckily, the chaos starts to slow as the magic flowing through the leylines is finally used up, and the Grove’s natural magic — and your own native abilities — start to listen to you again. It makes resting easier, at the very least. No longer do you have to wait for your window to automatically repair itself after something smashes it.
You know, unless someone wants to start throwing completely mundane stones at it.
With everything settling back into a sense of normalcy again, Ydalir is… still doing things. She never apologised for her candies setting off a chain reaction of chaos, but this time, she’s not feeding you. Kind of.
“If you want to stay connected to the leylines here and maintain some of the magic native to this place, here’s a spellbook for you to write your spells in, and—” she slams a leather-bound journal into your lap, a quill on top of it next to a small crystal that looks like it’s made of quartz.
“A star shard! You’ll need to eat that to anchor yourself to the magic here. It’ll taste like sugar, uh… and it won’t do anything weird to you this time, I’m so sorry. Anyway, you should go out and practice with your peers! It’ll make all of this easier.” If you head out, it looks like you aren’t the only person who’s been snagged for a bit of a magic lesson. It might be worth asking the more experienced spellcasters to help you with whatever new school of magic you picked up, or you could grab a study-buddy that’s on your tier… or you could just rawdog it and see what happens. Surely it won’t be as catastrophic as when you tried to do that throughout the month.
-New characters that app while this TDM is good (March + April) & existing characters already in the game will be grandfathered into the magic system, automatically gaining one Tier One Blessing of their choice without the initial 10-thread buy-in. The rules on the page must still be followed.
-Existing characters with ties to Beiwe & Ourania are free to pick up Gifts of the Sun & Moon at this point, instead of a Blessing.

It's also incredibly scary to have access to something like that after getting so used to being helpless.

Aira Shiratori ♡ Ensemble Stars ♡ Current player+muse
[ He doesn't think much of the bracelet that's formed around his wrist at first. He's experienced much weirder things than jewelry spawning on his person, and he thinks maybe it's benign. Maybe it's a gift from moon mom since he still lives in the shrine and has been taking over Mayoi's duties in the meantime while he learns exactly what he's supposed to be doing.
He is patently not expecting for a moment of thinking about his friends to spawn in three pale yellow swans that promptly decided to scatter and make a mess of his room. There are swans terrorizing the grove, pecking at people now, and Aira is just baffled, unsure of what to do or what is happening. ]
What-- What is going on??
[ Presumably there is other magical nonsense happening too. Help? ]
Roll for Initiative ♡2》
[ He still has not managed to wrangle his swans, but one has taken to pecking at his head while he attempts to read a conjuration book that he helped Ydalir unearth from her mountain of tomes. There's some candy next to him, untouched for now, but he's finding it incredibly difficult to parse what's written in the book just on its own, let alone the swan breaking his concentration every couple seconds. ]
Ugh... Are all magic books so hard to understand..?
Short Rest ♡3》
[ It's a relief once the magic calms down and the bracelet disappears from his wrist, the swans along with it. He recieves the star shard and the spell book with a hint of trepidation but-- this is good, right? This is a way for him to help? Maybe he can find someone more versed in how magic works to help him figure out exactly what he's meant to do here. It just felt like it kind of happened before, he didn't have any sense of what caused it or what could dismiss them... ]
Um... Did anyone else get the power to summon things?
[ He would like a study partner please. He doesn't know what he's doing. ]
Wildcard ♡4》
[ Give me all the things let the boy have friends ]

Nicole, of course, thinks herself perfectly positioned to assist some of the newer mages in the town! After all, a mage of her stature should have little difficulty tackling something like this. Equally, as an angel, it was her calling to help guide others!
It’s why she’s quick to flit over when that request for help is heard. She is smiling gently as she does. Hopefully it won’t be too jarring for Aira when a soft voice speaks directly into his mind, because her lips certainly aren’t moving. ]

Stardust Cookie | Cookie Run: Kingdom | old player, new character
[Stardust Cookie is not immune to falling through space. he's done it before. the thing is, this time, he cannot get a handle on his flying ability to stop himself. he lands against a barrier of some sort, bam, then a squeak as he slips down it like fingers streaking against glass. then he's falling again.
eventually, he will realize he has a different body, for some reason. no longer dough and jam, but flesh and bones. so it really hurts when he keeps hitting the barrier. someone? something? helps him down, but, oh, he looks worse for the wear. there may be a broken bone, or two. he lies on the ground for a long time, staring up at the sky.
what just happened? wasn't he on the Dream Express before this?]
...........
2) PERCEPTION CHECK
[so. Stardust is now in an unfamiliar place. but he's healed and is trying to get a handle on his powers. every so often, he will transform into a powerful birdlike creature without meaning to, attack something, then change back into his new human body]
Ah--! I'm sorry! That was an accident!
[he didn't mean to take out that entire tree, really. sorry he is so destructive]
3) ROLL AND REST
[it seems wise to assist in organizing tomes. Stardust Cookie may not be Blueberry Pie Cookie, but he thinks he can manage. at the very least he can pluck out tomes that are in a language he can read. eventually, he is rewarded for his efforts, receiving little cat-shaped candies.
he does not hesitate before ingesting. they're good! as good as Star Candies.......
perhaps, later, you'll see him batting at some dangling streamers, or running and sliding across the town square. hm. zoomies. completely unlike him.
later on, he obtains a Star Shard. he's a bit more hesitant to eat this one, even after Ydalir apologizes to him. he'll... hold onto it for a while. but you may also see him around this time trying to play with electricity. don't touch him, or you'll get a rough static shock]
4) WILDCARD
[this is June! and this is Stardust Cookie. he is human now, as with the other Cookies. anything else you want to play, hmu here]

The night sky lit up with new arrivals falling from the tear in space and varying degrees of screaming that jarred the young man to his feet. Sehul swooped to catch some, Aurora others. It seemed their guardians were doing their best but there were so many falling at once-
Pavlova spotted one smack hard into the barrier and fall limply near him but the other guardians were over towards the bulk of them. He's not sure if they noticed the straggler on the side, but his wings stretched and brought him into the air before he thought too hard on it.
They aren't familiar to him at all, and they aren't responding, but the warmth of their skin implied they were still alive. Pavlova cookie held onto them tight as he lowered them back down onto the roof of the Research Hall. At least it didn't seem like any damage had been done this time.
He glanced down at the stranger and settled them on the tiles, testing his magic and seeing if it would cooperate for him. His healing spells aren't that advanced, but he'd be able to heal enough to make the pain bearable. ]

Pavlova Cookie // Cookie Run Kingdom // Current Player+Muse
[ It happens on a late night at the beginning of the month. Pavlova Cookie unable to sleep and alone with his thoughts after all he's been through comes to grips with and processes what happened both the past couple months as well as back in their world. The futility of his situation, his one hope of freedom- his one comfort in confinement fleeing without him.
Through the haze he remembers her fleeing back, not a glance cast behind her
Light floods from his room, followed by frenzied flapping and a window being thrown open. By the time his room is checked, he's long gone.
The moon is gone from the sky, leaving only starlight twinkling above to see by, but it's enough for Pavlova cookie to locate and perch atop the Research Hall, feathers ruffled and breathing hard. The memories and emotions were still slamming him, and he couldn't handle the confined space as safe as his room has been up to now. He needed to breathe. He needed to think. What was he going to tell everyone? Had they already known?
The young man sinks down onto the roof and buries his head in his knees, wings wrapping around him for privacy. What is he supposed to do now? ]
And I have broken more and more ♡2》 Luca; The Watchtower
[ It takes some doing, but he is coaxed down from the roof. Rejoining society has not managed to ease his mood at all, though. He's still nervous how the change will be received and the questions it will prompt from the others. Luca is something of a test. He'd known quite a bit about Pavlova's situation prior to the shift, and so probably would take it easier than others. In theory.
So he comes around while Luca is setting up and knocks against the locked door until Luca opens it. ]
It got worse.
I can hope how this will end ♡3》 can be netbook or action
[ His magic was already more potent as an adult versus a child, so he doesn't immediately realize anything's off until he gets some kind of vision while tending to the garden one day. Visions aren't really his thing. Any kind of prying into Knowledge like his father tended to take active effort for him, with the exception being viewing people's hearts.
He's pretty sure this vision was unrelated to that. It's only after he wandered out into town proper that he realized he wasn't alone in his strange magic mishaps. Something was on fire, there were creatures all over the place again, and he's pretty sure there was a storm brewing that wasn't there a few seconds ago. Oh Witches.
Instead of dealing with all of that he heads back inside and grabs one of the netbooks ]
I'm curious, did anyone else get an odd vision?
With every line, a comedy ♡4》
[ Helping Ydalir isn't precisely his idea at first. He's finding it difficult to manage the desire to leave home most days, but with magic being in the state its in, even that has become hectic day to day, completely independent of if the caster intended chaos (dad).
So here he was, a stack of tomes in his arms as he maneuvers to the Library to put them away. The note on top of them simply read "Life" so they were of no help to him. His overzealous healing spells were their own beast. ]
That we can learn to love without demand ♡5》
[ It seems like the entirety of the grove has been given access to one kind of magic or another. Ydalir is making the rounds with star shards and the grove seems alive with magic. He may not be as adept as his father or white lily, but he can anticipate there being somewhat of a shortage of teachers. His magic isn't the same but he understands the fundamental concepts and read through a fair amount of books while helping Ydalir... He could at least point people in the right direction, he supposed.
He's taking a break for now, though, curled up in one of the chairs at the Research Hall. It's a good hub for learning magic given that was part of its purpose before. He'll perk up just a little if addressed, a small placid smile in place. ]
I'm sorry, did you need something?
With unreserved honesty ♡6》
[ Wildcard! if anything doesn't fit the prompts, you can still go for it, esp if you want to react to his age-up. ]

Varka | Genshin Impact | Current Player, Current Character
[The second that people begin to fall from the sky, Varka is in motion. Yes, there are plenty of hands to help out, but he isn't about to let someone fall through the cracks and wind up paste on the ground. The problem is that his own latent abilities are struggling, and he can't seem to muster the same air as usual.
No matter.
After a few failed attempts, Varka shifts tactics. He launches himself toward a tree, effortlessly clambers up to a halfway decent branch, and then launches outward from there. Without a need to focus on height, Varka can instead push himself outward further, easily snatching someone from the air.]
Hell of an entrance, I gotta say.
[He grins wildly as he alights upon the ground. Welcome to the Grove, stranger!]
ii. Come and Find Me Where the Daylight Ends — The Watchtower (cw: Alcohol)
[Knights are used to being sent on errant little quests, and Varka in particular is familiar enough with sorting things out in a library. It's not his favorite task — being around excessive amounts of paper is bound to make him sweat — but Ydalir asks nicely enough that he doesn't protest. It's the least he can do, considering the fact that she's opened her native home to so many residents.
And he can't complain about the rewards either. A sweet treat to keep him company as he heads to the bar? What better way to celebrate.
At least, that's what he thinks at first. But after three glasses of wine go down with nary a shift in his vision, he grows suspicious. It's even worse as he finds the closest fire-water equivalent and pounds that, too.]
Uh... anyone else's drinks feeling a little... light?
[The problem, of course, is that Varka doesn't give up on his efforts. He's used to having an impossibly strong constitution, so maybe all the strange magic is bolstering it? He'll just need to drink more, and more and -
roughly four hours later, Varka can be found flopped over the back of a chair, moaning audibly as several hours of alcohol hit him all at once.]
iii. Stolen Time — In your WALLS.
[With magic now fully returned (and then some), Varka can't resist putting himself to the test. He's already seen how things can get a bit... disruptive, so he makes sure to stay in the very center of the little village, with plenty of room around him.
The idea is simple: usually, without other visions around, Varka isn't at his strongest. But if he can infuse his own elements, he should be able deal halfway decent damage. It would certainly make solo efforts a bit more viable, right?
Inhaling, Varka focuses both on flickering flames and a flowing breeze. He keeps that thought in his mind as he leaps forward, both blades at the ready. These lunges are typically powerful, sure, but they're only meant to carry him a few yards.
The combination of combusting flames and powerful winds, however, effectively turn him into a rocket. And before he can stop himself, he's careened through a window, a wall, a closed door, right into your home/business.
Enjoy this man in a heap on the ground, pawing at his face.]
I, uh... Meant to do that?
iv. Enough to Waste on Feeling Young Again — Wildcard
[You know what to do. Hit me up with something or reach out on Discord.]
ii. (cw alcohol)
And, oh, that is significantly more irritating. If her mood was foul before, it is utterly dreadful now. It is why she is eager to set herself to task in some way, shape, or form. This fount of wild magic could not stand. She was going to rein her abilities in one way or another. Assisting in the gathering of the town’s ancient tomes would assuredly help with that.
It is that very task that has her seeking out Varka. The one positive in the midst of all this chaos is that she can access her wings again and… is forced to have them manifested for the vast majority of the time that she is out and about. It makes traversal incredibly easy, yes, but there is something to be said about not consistently being a pillar of sparkling light…
It is a lucky thing that she encounters him where she most expects him to be: The Watchtower, the tavern that had been mentioned to her a few days prior. The fact he is egregiously drunk somehow manages to balance her mood, remarkably!
She flits to where he is spilled over the top of a chair, completely bypassing the bar’s owner and potential patrons to tend to him. When she attempts to utilize her shielding magics it… applies possibly a hint too overwhelmingly powerfully. ]

Genya Shinazugawa | Demon Slayer | Current Player, Current Character
[It is, unfortunately, very typical for Genya to avoid people. This month, however, seems to be far worse. Considering his sins from the month prior, he's still hesitant to be around others. Someone would say that he's punishing himself. But as magic begins to return, more out of control than ever, Genya can't help but feel grateful.
It starts with his incisors sharpening into fangs while he's trying to eat. He clasps a hand over his mouth and quickly excuses himself, leaving a knocked over bowl of stew in his wake.
When he tries to shower off the mess, his whole body seems to liquefy, taking on the form of what's around him. Though he manages to keep himself together long enough to scramble out, he's terrified enough of the result leaves him thoroughly terrified of stepping foot in the water again.
The worst, however, seems to happen when he bumps into others. One moment, he is normal enough. The next, after bumping into an errant soul (AKA You!), he feels his whole body begin to shift. He takes on traces of the other person, and abruptly, new power surges through him.]
Shit, shit, shit - you need to get away from me! Now!!
ii. Perception Check
[Since being around people (and even other things) is a no-go, Genya decides to shift to a largely nocturnal schedule. It's why he's out at midnight, having stolen yet another training dummy from the Soryu dojo. He practices his usual sword strokes at first, trying to fall into simple routine.
But when that fails to bring comfort, he draws a deep breath and shifts his position. He imagines his brother, the sword forms he had perfected for wind breathing, and instead goes through those motions. He might hope like hell that Sanemi never shows up here, but gods if he doesn't miss the guy.
Predictably, the first two forms manifest nothing. Genya knows he has no skill, and so he doesn't blink twice when the wind fails to blow. But as he moves through third form, twisting through Clear Storm Wind Tree, something shifts. A powerful burst of wind shoots outward. It isn't the same as Sanemi's own skill, but the force of the wind is enough to knock the dummy over, bend the nearby grass, and send a few errant leaves scattering.]
W-what the... What the hell?
iii. Wildcard
[You know what to do. Hit me up with something or reach out on Discord.]
ii
He himself has had to be fairly careful not to touch him despite the comfort he'd like to give because they can never be sure what might set it off. He was on his way with a bento box when he feels a gust of wind and hears Genya's voice. ]

Joshua Rosfield | Final Fantasy XVI | current player/character
[ With magic flooding back into the Grove, Joshua has witnessed a great deal of things. His own magic feels almost out of control as it courses through his body, like he's struggling against letting the Phoenix go berserk. Others seem to be having the same issue, too, like nothing seems to be listening. Like a frenzied chocobo, or dammed-up water suddenly set free. Uncontrollable and chaotic.
Joshua can at least anticipate this, so he treats his own magic like it has still been banished. It is the easiest way to deal with the situation, at least until the flow wanes. Certainly it will, even if it takes weeks or even months.
What Joshua cannot anticipate, however, is the sudden, startling vision that flashes into his mind unbidden, like an incredibly intrusive mental image. Unfortunately for him, it happens as he's standing outside the clinic, a small leather pouch full of vials in his hand suddenly falling to the ground. There is a distinct tinkling of breaking glass. RIP, vials.
Because the hand that was holding them is now flying up almost reflexively to cover his nose and mouth, a deep red flush coloring his cheeks seemingly out of nowhere. ]
By the Founder--
ii. 「I'm a wizard」
[ Joshua, like a good boy, has been helping Ydalir sort through the books. It's been a task, certainly, but if anyone is up to the task, it's him. He spends so much time with his nose in books, he might as well be one. And besides, it helps him find a book that at least seems like it might give some hints on how to handle the way his mind has literally been drifting lately.
And for his efforts, he gets sweets. They aren't anything he's familiar with, and the chewy consistency of the gummy strings aren't exactly a texture he likes, he is at least grateful enough to eat some of it! After all, Ydalir worked so hard on them.
Except that not long after, as he's trying to make his way back to his house, his hair develops a mind of its own and grows. It isn't a rapid growth, but it is enough that before he even makes it to his front door, his hair is hanging in his eyes. Sucking in a breath, he turns back around to return to Ydalir and ask for help, but it's too difficult to see to even try. ]
Ah... Hello? Anyone?
[ Maybe there's someone nearby...? ]
iii. 「when we play we go all night」
A word of caution: If you accept candies from Ydalir, and you choose the ones that look like noodles, keep a brush handy. Or perhaps a knife.
[ Ask him how he knows. ]
iv. 「eating twizzlers」
[ Wildcard option! If you wanna do something else that doesn't fit into these prompts, feel free to plot with me on discord! ]
ii
The sound gets Allen to at least look his way. He's always here to help people out, but also. But also... Hilariously, Allen is weirdly equipped for "Weird things that happen with little explanation" because this was just a weekly occurrence with the Science Division.
Still isn't not funny, though. ]
You have a little something on your face there, mate. [ Allen- ]

Ryan Akagi | Infinity Train | Current Player
[Things have been going better, especially now that Ryan can leave the room and touch grass after the last couple of months. Almost like he never had a big shutdown during the last event! And since he and Min-Gi never had any kind of magic powers to begin with, that just means everything's basically back to normal.
Which is why this is a very normal morning, where Ryan and Min-Gi are curled up together and sleeping, tangled in sheets and each other. It's such a comfy way to wake up now that they're dating, and especially now that they've been reunited. Ryan can feel himself slowly coming to the surface and nghhhh he doesn't want to yet, so he snuggles closer to Min-Gi and the otter wedged between them like a teddy bear.
...
...Wait. Wait a minute--]
B. Stuck (Outside, in a tree)
[Okay, some of this suddenly having magic stuff is pretty gnarly actually!
Like gliding? He could get used to gliding. It feels almost like ice skating, and he's pretty good at that already (not that he's had the occasion in a while). And especially after eating some of those sugar candies that look like cats, he's having a great time zooming around the grove.
Unfortunately, sometimes he'll kick the air a little too hard and shoot up instead of out, flailing several feet in the air - which is its own sort of fun, but not when he has no idea how to land without breaking his legs. So, he's caught himself on a nearby tree and pulled himself up onto a branch...but once he's settled he realizes that the tree is Very Tall - a lot taller than he realized, and none of the lower branches seem sturdy enough to support him climbing down.
Cool. Cool, cool, cool he's stuck like a stray cat.
So he waits for any nearby person to come close and calls out to them, but...you know, tries to be cool about it. Like this isn't an incredibly stupid problem to have.]
Hey! Looking good down there! You, uh-- you wanna help a guy out, maybe?
[Pleeeeeeeease he's like this close to just jumping down anyway, consequences be damned.]
C. Wildcard (Wherever, Whenever)
[If you want something else, hit me up!]
A.
Some mornings, like this one, he even drifts back off again. It’s warm and comfortable, and he’s not ready to give that up just because Ryan can’t keep still once he’s awake.
He grumbles sleepily, screwing his eyes even more tightly shut, unaware yet there’s anything amiss.]
Ryan…
[Why did he have to fall for someone who’s such a fidget?]

Lodi | Destiny 2 | Current player, current character
[ The Nine had been blissfully quiet for the month that he had spent in the Grove. Their presence had been a distant memory at the fringes of his subconscious: the faintest flicker of ozone on the tip of his tongue, gone the moment he swallowed. On occasions They had even felt like the faintest prickle of goosebumps on his skin.
And then, all at once – all at once, the proverbial dam breaks and his – head feels as though it is going to split open. He is in the Grove and he is hundreds of yards away, at a glittering lake lined with dormitories, and he is on Europa with his head sunk so deep into the sand that he can feel the frost on the back of his teeth. He has been pitched a thousand-thousand years into the past, to the moment his world bowed beneath the weight of Darkness, and it is as if it is a punishment for shirking his duty.
Emissary, one of the inner orbits thunders into his head, and Lodi stumbles to the dirt outside of the inn and presses his brow to the cool ground until his ears stop ringing. Except they don’t. If anything, the sound gets louder, until he can hear it reverberating inside his skull. Where are you? Where am I? Come back.
the cosmos require your participation
A CONTRACT WAS SIGNED
Y O U A R E N ‘ T D O N E Y E T
so why can’t we reach you
RUBBING ELBOWS WITH THE WRONG CROWD?
When he picks his head up out of the grass, the ground around his clutching hands has changed. A smooth, unmarked surface of platinum, threading from each point of contact with his fingers. ]
Shit. [ That wasn’t good. There were other powers at play here – the Nine weren’t – in charge. Not here. Surely not here. He doesn’t know what to do. What if he upsets the wrong deity? What if he changes the Grove irrevocably? Surely that couldn’t happen. ] Um. I – okay. I can fix that.
II. Roll for Initiative
[ As it turns out, curiosity kills the cat and experience doesn’t tend to make it much wiser. Even after having witnessed the varying effects of the candy doled out by the lovely Miss Ydalir, Lodi is far too horrifically polite to ever turn down a gift. He is equally too polite to not, at the very least, try it.
That is how he finds himself… literally breathing fire? The first time he exhales after eating the candy and shoots out a spurt of actual flame from his throat, he yelps. A hand is clapped over his mouth and then promptly removed five seconds later, when he breathes out more fire. ]
Oh my god. [ This is a man in abject distress. His own future sight going haywire is one thing. Exhaling fire? What in the hell. Why? Ydalir? Please. ] I am so –. [ More fire. ] I am so sorry. Why is this happening? How do I stop this? Help?
III. Short rest
Hi, um. Lodi again! If anyone is grappling with the powers of Divination, please feel free to drop a line. I may not be well-versed in the whole spellcasting bit, but I have some generous experience with the “grappling with visions” bit. Happy to help walk through it if anyone needs it.

Been a while! A couple years, if the state of the Grove now vs then is anything to go by, or maybe these people are just good at building up a society and pretending it's functional as humans tend to. That little pink-haired girl he played cards with apparently isn't here anymore. A shame.
Unfortunately more interesting than Felicity is the familiar feathers of one (1) Allen Walker, and the mad ravings of someone whose Innocence is on the fritz. Looks like Nea isn't currently active...
Tyki crouches down, way too close for comfort probably, and smiles.]
Evening, Boy. How's that cursed arm treating you?

Shadow Milk Cookie | Cookies | Current
[It starts with a shriek in the Cookie house. An explosion coming from Shadow Milk's atelier. Then, reality seems to ripple, that feeling you get when you're on the cusp of sleep but your whole body jolts. Or that feeling when you're in a dream and you're about to trip, but you full body startle awake. If you're in the vicinity of the Cookie House things start to get ...weird. Silly, even.
Strange plants sprout out of the ground, strange and unsettling paper dolls crawl out of the ground, out of walls to walk towards you, hands outstretched before they rattle apart and melt back into the ground, and the Blueberry Beholders that had a tendency to grow wild around the Grove, they've doubled in number and all seem ... to be rather dazed and confused. Eyes darting around, shaking, some of them ...melting.
Out of the corner of your eye you might catch a rabbit or two, dressed in their dapper little outfits. They will either hold some trumpet and blow into it at the least convenient time, interrupting an emotional conversation or someones train of thought before skittering off. Others will hand you a piece of parchment. Upon it, in the most beautiful writing befitting an illuminated manuscript, will be some silly rumor about someone. "So and so is a cannibal" or "So and so hates turtles" or "so and so farts"
These disturbances at least seem mostly harmless, if really annoying. As you get closer to the Cookie house it's appearance will further warp. Dare you to enter?]
[Perception Check.]
[Opening a door in the Cookie House, or any house in the Grove, expecting the bathroom or the closet or whatever, will instead open into some blue, gold and white M.C. Escher nightmare of endless stairs and towers.]
[It would be within rights to just shut it and move on, but if you listen, there's the faintest voice deep within. The soft sounds of thudding at a set rapid pace, like someone tumbling endlessly down the stairs.]
[Or, perhaps the voice, frustrated, calls out.]
Creators, get me out of here!
[Risk the nightmare stairs to try and rescue the Groves lovable shitty clown?]
[Perception check with advantage.]
[Shadow Milk has been freed of his funhouse from hell, and he has been trying very hard to get a handle on the way his powers just warp and explode the very fabric of reality around him. It's frankly incredibly stressful when he doesn't want it to be happening, and he's been suffering a lot of piercing migraines trying to get it under control.]
[Eventually him trying to tamp it down while also grappling with his incredibly unstable shapeshifting powers sends him to the brink, and in another burst of his weird magic, something big and Monstrous suddenly appears in the grove.]
[It howls like it's wounded, causing a racket unlike anything else....until it becomes clear that it's just throwing a tantrum. Come soothe the poor Beast? Give him a scritchy? Try to fight him because he's clearly some kind of monster?]
[Roll for Initiative.]
Be careful what you wish for, am I right? The magic here is an absolute mess, but it looks like everyone's in the same boat! Great! If you want to practice or help me with some of the research, the Research Hall is, as always, open to the public.
I am not an expert on this magic yet, but given my THOUSANDS of years of experience teaching magic, I can safely offer to help anyone trying to practice their own!
[Shadow Milk can be found at the Hall as expected. He's returned to floating around, though every so often he just ...floats off to the ceiling and he grumbles righting himself. When he is not pouring over the books he's gotten from Ydalir, he is practicing Conjuration. Choosing which path he wanted to start with took thought, but he lands on Conjuration because there's much less of a clear cut Earthbread analogue to it. Something he doesn't already know inside and out. That is exciting.]
[When coming in you will be greeted with either a Husky sized wolf-like creature, that also appears to bear a milk-white coat of wool. It runs up to you in a hurry, wagging its tail and circling. Blue Cream, his cake hound, trails on it's heels.]
Both of you knock that off, I haven't given you permission to eat them.
[He will look up with a wide grin.]
Yet! Hi, how can this humble jester help you?
[OR. You walk in and he is trying to summon things.]
You, quick! Say the name of a weapon.
[Depending on how normal or how weird it is, he will do his best to summon it. He's practicing, this is a fun game. Sorry if he accidentally summons a rubber chicken once or twice first.]
[Wildcard.]
[Go nuts, throw this clown against the wall. Just be mindful I am taking things kind of slow this month!]
[Roll for Initiative]
He does stand back upright and give Shadow Milk a little bow when he's greeted. A jester, even! How fitting! Is it weird that Allen seems even more excited to be here than he did two seconds ago?
Anyway, he is being tailed closely by a rather tall corpse who seems to be humming softly. ]
Cheers! Sorry, I would've responded on the um. The magic notebook thing. But, I may have gotten a bit ahead of myself coming here straight away. I'm Allen Walker! I don't really know a lot about "magic"? And I um... [ He points at the corpse. ] I summoned her, on accident, I think. And now I don't know what to do with her, because I can't really make her vanish again, either.

Koyuki | Demon Slayer | Current player, new character!
[ She is used to pain. A life lived with a body that fought against every breath, that prickled with sweatladen discomfort at the moment of exertion. The sensation fleeing from her fingertips to leave only agonizing buzzing behind is familiar.
The falling is new. She has been upended before: namely, whenever she had fainted in the past, or the first time she had gained faltering consciousness after her untimely demise. This is hurtling from a distance unfathomable, feeling a weightlessness that feels so utterly foreign that she is, even without knowing what is happening, instinctively terrified. When her body collides with something undefined and terribly solid, all she can do is wince and endure.
When she slips through the—whatever it is—it hurts even more. The falling hastens, somehow, and she suddenly no longer feels weightless but buffeted, crowded into herself as she weathers the whistling wind.
Thankfully, she is caught! Though she cries out in reflexive pain and reasonable terror, she will immediately try to cling to her savior. Also, she does not say anything, at least not initially. She's too busy shaking like a leaf, poor thing. ]
ii. — roll for initiative
[ After her arrival, Koyuki ultimately decides that the best place she can apply herself is in assisting with the piles upon piles of books the strange individual in the center of the Grove surrounds herself with. With no innate ability to speak of, she is not presently worried about losing control of herself… beyond the nudging sensation in the back of her mind that, somehow, even she is affected by this.
A naturally weak constitution does not make for an easy time of piling up books, though. As she carefully balances a stack of them perhaps a book or two too high, an abrupt tremor nearly causes her to drop them entirely.
It is only quick reflexes that enable her to place them down before she starts coughing. Oh, the dust… she had nearly forgotten. Perhaps it had been lofty to hope she would be reincarnated without this affliction. ]
I'm so sorry. I'm alright. [ She manages between coughs. Sorry to be disruptive! ]
iii. — wildcard
Keeping the number of prompts limited but… if you have anything in particular for her, either let me know or just lay it down here! I am flexible!
i
The rest of it happens in a blur. He is not the fastest Hashira in the Grove any more, but he is up there. More than that, he has enough muscle in his body to leap high, streaking through the sky fast enough to catch the young woman before she comes anywhere near the ground.
He doesn't even look at her at first, his focus shifting to the branches of the tree he lands upon, and then the ground as he carefully makes his way down. Only once he's on solid ground does he finally glance down and -
well. It's a good thing that he waited, because he very nearly drops her.]

basil | omori | current player, new character
( It happens in an instant.
One moment, he was sinking into unconsciousness, the next he finds himself waking up – the wind blowing through his hair. He's falling, falling still – and he finds himself waking up rather quickly.
This wasn't a dream. It felt too real. Between the pressure of what was happening and the panic settling in, there's no way that it could be simply a dream. He tries to scream, voice catching in his throat – and he lands on the back of a rainbow-colored bird.
And then, he finds himself to the ground. A whimper escapes him, hand moving to freshly wrapped bandages. His head is throbbing, but is it because of the fall? Or, because of his injuries?
When he hears the sound of approaching footsteps, he finds himself stiffening once more. He's barely pushed himself to stand, finding himself on his hands and knees as he looks up and quickly attempts to withdraw, moving backwards. )
H... Hello? Is someone there...?
b. roll for initiative:
( Basil did love sweets as young adults usually did, and while he feels a little wary of eating anything here, he finds himself hungry. He know well-enough to know that sweets won't satisfy his appetite, but things have been more than a bit overwhelming for him after his arrival.
After assisting Ydalir with sorting some books, he takes a jawbreaker with a nervous thank you and unfortunately--
Finds himself elsewhere without meaning to.
It happens just like it did when he had first entered into the world – one moment, he's one place, and the next, he's somewhere else entirely. Whether it be someone elses's home, or room at the inn, or maybe even the beach or forest, he's there.
He feels himself tense up, and he waves his hands almost frantically. )
– I'm sorry! I-- don't know how I ended up here!

Jing Yuan | Honkai Star Rail | Current player, new character!
[ This is, assuredly, the last time that he is going to allow himself to fall asleep at his desk.
His dreams have always been vivid: full-bodied and lively things, embodying and bastardizing over seven hundred years of fraught memories. Dreaming of falling from great heights is hardly an uncommon happenstance for a leader of a people that spent the majority of their lives aboard a massive ship.
It is the utter lack of familiarity with the skies that initially clues him in. The second clue is far more physical and, in many ways, far more jarring. The sensation of a thousandfold shards of glass digging at his skin is only intensified by the solid collision with a creature both brilliantly scaled and incandescently bright. The wind is knocked utterly from Jing Yuan's lungs and he remains bereft until he is deposited gracelessly to the ground.
The bitterly cold, bitterly hard ground. He greets it with a grateful groan nevertheless, remaining facedown in an unceremonious heap for upwards of thirty seconds. If he could only manage to will himself back to sleep, perhaps this would all turn out to be a rather miraculous dream! ]
Of all the times to not be able to fall back asleep…
II. PERCEPTION CHECK!!
[ As it turns out, this place was neither a dream nor a location within any known space that the Xianzhou Alliance had traversed. This was a rather particular pickle to find himself in. Especially given the unfamiliar sensation at the very tip of his fingertips. A tingling had set in mere moments after his unorthodox—and painful—introduction to the Grove, and had erupted into pure electricity as a proverbial dam burst.
In the interest of taking out two birds with one stone, so to speak, Jing Yuan had distanced himself from the scattered buildings to scout out the region. This additionally afforded him more than enough free space to attempt to pinpoint the meaning behind the pins and needles in his hands.
When an unfamiliar creature wanders too close he deems it a worthy test subject. He beckons for Lightning-Lord, swinging his guandao in that familiar downward arc. When the colossal Spiritus' downward swing not only obliterates the encroaching creature in a deafening explosion of lightning but the immediate surrounding area, Jing Yuan is left with ringing ears and a strange taste on the tip of his tongue. ]
Oh, dear. [ Somehow, he manages to sound incredibly languid about the destruction even as the strands of his bangs are practically standing on end and crackling with electricity. ] That was not supposed to be quite that flashy.
I
He isn’t though. He thinks it’s kind of funny.
There’s a constant stream of a smoke or mist that pools from Mephisto, and he is very pointedly making sure this newcomer isn’t touching it as he keeps distance. Which is a shame, he wishes he could poke this guy with his crutch. ]
Adrenaline’s a hell of a drug, da? Never able to sleep with it. Though, you may want to be moving instead of sleep out here. Too much movement. It would be messy to clean your body if you get trampled.

Lavi | D.Gray-Man | new player+character
✑ WAKE UP
[It's almost cruel, in a way, to have taken him from where he was: newly awakened on his own sickbed, still weak as a newborn kitten. Jarring even more so when the fall is abruptly broken by the barrier—and while less painful than his recent crash against a wall—jerks him to the rest of consciousness just as he falls through it. Lavi barely manages to twist his body around as he lands onto the back of a...rather colorful bird. Still unsure if this is a dream or not he doesn't really have time to take in more than the blur of colors when he finds himself in the grass near a river. He shifts up onto his knees, looking around with his right eye closed, as the wind ruffles his hair.] This...
[This is definitely not the Noah stronghold, or wherever it was that they'd taken him and Gramps. A pang shudders through him at the thought of the old man and he bends forward, face hidden by his hair as he grips at the center of his shirt. The loss is sharp, leaving jagged marks in a heart he wasn't supposed to have and yet... How could he not care for the grumpy old man who'd pretty much raised him from birth? Still, not a tear trails down his face, he could do that much for Bookman.
Lavi sighs and now tilts his head backwards, up towards the sky and the sun, both eyes closed. This isn't helping him find out where he is or what happened to him. To Bookman's body. To... He frowns, left eye opening:] Allen... Why?
[Why was he there? Why did Lavi see him when he woke up? Where did he wake up?]
✑ ROLL: NAT 20 (+ a bit of Perception)
[Lavi finds himself roaming about the village slowly, left eye drinking in all that it can and searching for any kind of familiarity. Of course, it doesn't help that there's...chaos going on that he's constantly having to dodge. Sheets of ice suddenly underfoot, followed by random pock-marks in the road that are large enough to eat feet up to mid-shin. Then, of course, that ice melted to make mud...So he's a little worn for wear when he approaches the pile of books, peering at them...with more than a small bit of curiosity. The letters curl in somewhat familiar patterns and his fingers twitch at his sides as if eager to get his hands on them. Give him ten minutes and he's got an small pile of his own started next to the big one, and one currently in hand as he stares at some of the pages, muttering to himself:]
It seems like Old Norse but at the same time it has hints of Urdu to it...
[Shall we pick a candy together?]
✑ RESPITE: conjure
What the heck am I supposed to do with you?[Lavi is poking at a rather inky (so think kinda a semi-solid state but definitely speaks to being wet if touched) little...bat? It keeps flitting out of range of the offending finger, but still not getting far from its summoner.]
Oi. [It finally places itself on Lavi's wild hair, the ink-liquid staying together.]
I don't suppose there's any way to have it relay messages, is there?
[Hello teacher?????]
✑ WILDCARD
[Hello, please do not be eating. Rusty at game nonsense for sure. But open to plotting! If your character is familiar with the DGM cast, he's not wearing his uniform or eyepatch! Cantarella Fisalia | Wuthering Waves | new player+character
🪼 WAKING DREAM
[Disorientation is quickly tossed by the wayside, pain is more or less...ignored. For as she starts falling through the strange skies, Cantarella summons her umbrella, using her inate abilities as a Resonator and gently starts to float downward. Those that look upward will spy her descent briefly paused by the barrier itself, her feet alighting on it for just a moment before it flickers out, allowing her to fall again. Or...well...float.
She lets out an amused sort of hum as she looks around the area during her graceful fall. Feel free to notice the strange Mary Poppins-esque shadow she casts coming down. Feet touching down on solid ground and she now huffs, twirling her umbrella as she moves it to rest on her shoulder.]
What an interesting forest... [She taps her cheek with a finger of her free hand.] I don't believe I've seen trees so densely packed before.
[The woods of Rinascita are rather spaced out. But that's a game world, for you, gotta be mindful of computers and their processing.]
🪼 PERCEPTION: healer on deck
[It seems...odd. That weird cloud of slightly green tinged "fog" that suddenly poofs out of the woman clothed in blue. She, herself, lets out an uncharacteristical yelp of surprise and then a cough or two as the cloud quickly dissapates.Cantarella stumbles a little, putting her hand against a nearby wall to steady herself. The air around her that had smelled dangerously sweet (not in a good way) is now lemony-fresh like one might find in a hospital ward of olden days—no bleach here.]
How strange... [She's looking down at her palm of her other hand as if it were marked by something, yet there's nothing there.] It's almost as if my body has reverted.
[Now that's a strange sentence, ma'am. Feel free to ask her what she means, for she's looking up and locking eyes with you.]
Pardon my rather odd question, but... [You now have two dialogue options from Cantarella!
Option One: "Are you injured in some fashion?"
Option Two: "Do you know what caused that cloud?"
The real answer to that one being her body was expelling the poisons she's accumulated through her lifetime since at tier three, cleansing of poisons can be done. Either option you choose, she'll slowly be sinking down to her knees anyway, as that was...quite the expendature of energy.]
Oh dear... [At least she hasn't fainted???]
🪼 ROLLING IN THE DEEP
Hmmm... What quaint treats these are.[Far be it from ingesting them herself, Cantarella is rolling one of the jawbreakers around in her fingers.]
I wonder... Is it the ingredients used to make them or the magic of this place that is giving them their... [She lets out a small, amused chuckle. Perhaps at whatever predicament you've not found yourself in by ingesting one of them.] Peculiar effects.
[She's almost tempted herself to try one, really. But that's just the poisoner in her.]
🪼 RESPITE OF LIFE
[Normally people tend to avoid Cantarella. She's notorious by reputation. By sight. By the faint curling of poison that literally seeps out from her very pores.
Happens when you've ingested so much poison over your lifetime in order to become head of your household. It didn't matter that her heart was in the right place or that her intentions were for the betterment of her people. Only those that were staff of the Fisalia family and Rover knew (or cared) that she was trying to break away from that bias.
People avoided her.
So it's strange now to find herself roped into helping those seeking treatment from the rogue magic of earlier, stranger still to find the calming ease that she now exudes instead of poison. She's been used to the cloying scent of her poisons for so long that the sudden shift to something more...medicinal and calming struck her somewhat speechless.
Cantarella currently is finishing tying off a bandage, perhaps yours, and returns her hands to her lap, briefly. Then she reaches for the book given to her by Ydalir and scribbles something inside—something she overheard from one of the other healers or her own thoughts.]
I would suggest keeping the bandage dry for the time being, the herbs will take a few hours to do their most potent work. Or... [A soft smile.] Perhaps you would like to stop back by tomorrow for more healing? [Of the magical kind. Of course.]
🪼 WILDCARD
[Lavi-mun present: I'm sure Cantarella will have found her way to the river or possibly to the beach at some point if you want to wander into her in those places. Hard to keep a jellyfish out of water, you see. If I need to alter anything, again, please let me know!]Perception! // hi this is the kanda mun
Haha... nope~. But I do know you look worse for wear, Miss.
[But he assumes it has something to do with the haywire magic; Ain's own has suddenly produced a summoned barn owl that sits up on his shoulder and hoots contemplatively, while the tall man himself reaches out to try helping Cantarella to her feet.]
Let's get you to the clinic.
