I mean yeah back in the 1800s they did all kinds of weird stuff so that tracks, but yeah cocaine is super illegal because it messes you up in a bunch of ways. so like yeah the doctors maybe thought they were helping but!! they totally weren't. it's so wild that doctors used to be like, yeah, let's do drugs! surely that won't have any bad effects on people!
