Warnings: will be placed in headers/I expect you all to behave regarding this

Alright crew here's how this is gonna work:
- Mod responses will come after every player has tagged in OR after 24 hours have passed. If you do not tag in those 24 hours you will be skipped over.
- OOC communication will be done through the Discord in a thread in RP-Talk-1. You don't have to unmute, but please have your pings on so that if I need to @ everyone, I can. For now we will clusterfuck everyone into one thread; if we need to split into 3 for the groupings we will, just lmk.
- I am going to give you an initial "go play" toplevel somewhere in this as a heads up (this is my contingency for "Wolfie is out/busy or players are out/busy and we still want to play"). I do not recommend hitting the bell on this one, but this is so that all fourteen of you can interact at once. I want you to fuck around and go play in this one. I promise you this one does not need to be mod-guided (but ask me questions if you need to). I sort of put a lot into this setting and I'd feel bad not letting you all do the thing oops.
- PLEASE GOD IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS @ ME IN THE DISCORD chat might move fast and I might not see it. PING ME. I'm begging. I'm on my knees. A ping for Wolfie, please.
- Please hit the bell on your group threads :) and try to maintain some semblance of a tag order. For the initial "all fourteen of you are together" I will not ask for you to maintain tag order and I'm sorry for anyone's inboxes. I will try to get through this in a manner that does not make you want to explode. I was woefully underprepared for 90% of the game to actually want to do this sorry-

And not casting shade at the couples' singing hour, either, actually, though... maybe the encouraging(?) little tail wag he gives is worse. Sorry not sorry if it is.

He does have the distinct feeling he could "go west very far" on his own and probably find... something... but for now, staying with people seems like the smarter plan. That said, he is very suddenly right next to Lily after that thought. Oops...?]

[In that general direction is... a whoooole lot of buildings, and just on the outside edge, what looks to be a treeline and perhaps forest. It's hard to tell. You're pretty far away.

Lily is still going to hear Ydalir saying shit while she presumably tries to unbury? unstick?? herself from whatever situation she's gotten herself into. There's something thrown in about "I really want that thing in the treeeeee" that sounds particularly childish, but she is, for all intents and purposes, probably? still stuck. Hard to say.

In any case, you have many options to get to where Far Away is. Have fun figuring out how you want to do this.]

... The forest. She was talking about a deer, and something she wants in a tree.

( ... though, the fact that she can hear ydalir and the others can't has her thinking- )

We've displayed some new abilities in this realm. Maybe we can get there faster.

[Thankfully Ryan doesn't float off again when Min lets go, but he does turn around to make sure he's okay, and offers a small smile. He can kind of tell what he tried to do and he's touched - even if it didn't work and was a little embarrassing for him.]

Hey, don't disappear on me.

[Literally, he means. He offers a kind hand to bring him back into the circle, but even if Min doesn't take it he'll motion for him to come back.]

Maybe! I don't know if my new thing will help? I think all I got is, uh. This...

[And with maybe the least amount of enthusiasm possible, Ryan puts his hands together and pulls them apart, making a little rainbow between them for a second.]

What'd everyone else get?

[Min doesn't take the hand, but he does shuffle back, trying to ignore Mystery's wagging tail. He doesn't want to get separated from them again if there's another surge in the crowd, or anything else happens.]

I don't know. I get this feeling I could help, but...

[But after the failed attempt to heal Ryan, he's reluctant to embarrass himself again. It's not like he can turn down a direct request though. Min closes his eyes, willing something to happen. Even without knowing quite what he's doing, this is much more successful than his attempt to heal whatever bruise had been left behind when Ryan had been hit.

His eyes fly open when he feels a nudge at his shoulder. He turns to see two white unicorns flanking him, each with striking pink manes and tails.]

Oh.

[This definitely could be helpful, though they do seem to be protective of Min-Gi, and one especially glowers at Ryan for the crime of standing too close to Min.

Strong as they look, they're also probably not capable of carrying all five of them to where Ydalir is.]

[ What an odd little collection of powers they’d apparently been granted to help with their proving grounds. Sanemi already has a marked idea of his given they’d just been utilized to save the dog-person drifting away into the atmosphere, but use-case of their collective varied largely.

Maybe they didn’t all have to be useful for traversal. Probably wasn’t the point. Not all heart-searching had to be useful, or whatever the hell. ]

Can’t say for certain, but mine seems related to… making things lighter or heavier? Not like I can fucking touch any of you, though, so who knows how useful that’ll be. I’m plenty fast on my own, though.

[At this point, Mystery is wondering if these new powers are even part of the "soul-searching" at all... It doesn't feel like it, but it also doesn't not feel like it, so...

Someone smarter in the ways of this esoteric magic nonsense than him can figure it out. Maybe.

Although, yes, it does seem like this convenient set of powers to get you where you need to go would work to get you to the forest faster! That's crazy. I wonder if the mod set it up so this would happen. I wonder if that was on the mod's spreadsheet. Crazy shit happening really.

Of course, the city is a rapidly-changing beast; one second there's an alleyway to Mystery's right, and the next second there is no alleyway because it's been replaced with a candle store... so you may or may not have your work cut out for you getting there.

So chat. Tell me... how will you get started on the Getting There?]

If you're both that fast, then maybe the unicorns could help the rest of us?

[Maybe. Neither unicorn looks especially happy with this suggestion, and the shifting urban terrain could be difficult for such large creatures. Min-Gi isn't too sure about that either, regarding the changing pathways uncertainly. The unicorns seem attuned to his discomfort, the more intimidating one standing guard to make sure no one (Ryan) gets too close to him while the gentler of the two reassuringly nuzzles at his arm.

It helps. He reaches up to pat the nose of the one nuzzling him absently, trying to ascertain whether there's some pattern or way to predict the changes that might keep them from getting lost or trapped.]

I'm already relatively light, so I can be carried if necessary. We do need to come to a consensus quickly though. I'm not sure how agreeable this city's shifting is, and while I don't think Ydalir is in danger I really don't want to chance it.

( ... unicorns, though... they're so pretty. lily gives them both little smiles, but refrains from getting too close since they seem wary. )

If your new friends are amiable to it, I'm sure they'd help a lot.

[Why is this one unicorn so aggressive?! It literally glares down Ryan until he takes an additional step or two back from Min-Gi. He thinks for a second and looks to Sanemi.]

Well...if you can make us lighter, maybe we can all be on the unicorns without hurting them?

[There's a loud snort and hoof stomping nearby as the one unicorn PROTESTS and Ryan whirls around to snap at it.]

Hey, it was just an idea, okay?! Chill out!

[ Under normal circumstances, he'd be more than happy to kick it into high gear and run ahead in the general direction that Lily has indicated. These were not normal circumstances, though, and as much as he begrudges the idea... staying together while advancing seems like the best course of action.

Which... okay, Ryan's suggestion makes sense. Sanemi sucks in air through his teeth. ]

I can, but when I touch people – something else happens. It's like they break. The dog... person didn't seem to fucking mind, but I'unno what consistent exposure might do.

[ He crosses his arms over his chest. Grits it out. ]

I sure as shit don't want to – y'know. [ He flaps a hand dismissively, like even saying it aloud is paining him. ] Cause any permanent damage. Is there a better way for us to stick together?

["God I hope he barks at the unicorns" congratulations, Wolfie, when the spicier unicorn snorts and hoofstompies at Ryan, it's. Absolutely enough to get a startled bark and growl out of Mystery, because this is obviously how we make friends with magical creatures. Obviously.

But right, okay, planning things without getting into a fight with the magical manifestation? Of soul? Of a party member? Is that what that is? Who knows--]

...I could carry people one at a time, but... [Pointed glance at the shifting scenery-] Might get lost on the way back, with how this is going...

[Make everyone else light, put everyone on a unicorn, which is also light, and then nyoom... is a stupid suggestion and he does not voice it, but he pictures it.]

[Yay he boof boof :)

One of the friendly werewolf people sees y'all kind of lingering in one spot looking lost. He's a big dude, shredded like a sailor and with the energy to match, and he strolls over with the smallest of small children sitting up on his shoulder.]

Y'seem like yer a wee bit confuddled by somethin'! Need a hand? I got two of 'em!

[You know, maybe he should be more concerned that one of them is barking now but honestly? He's kind of touched! He's being defended! He gives Mystery a thumbs-up for that.

He was thinking about more possibilities, really, but the sudden shredded wolfman is a little distracting. He's friendly right back though, happy to be the first to chime in.]

Really? Looks like you've got four hands to me!

[Ryan grins and finger-guns. Get it? Because there's a kid on his shoulders?? He laughs and hopefully the wolfman does too or this will be really awkward.]

But uh, yeah! I think we could use some help figuring out how to get where we need to be. Right, guys?

[He's revealed his real power here - possibly being the only extravert in the group.]

[ If they lingered here any longer this would undoubtedly become a continued occurrence. Sanemi stares at the extremely buff dog-man longer than is strictly polite, thinks almost wistfully of home, and then clears his throat.

He’s happy to let Ryan be the first to speak up before he tosses his own hat in the ring. He keeps his voice, surprisingly, unerringly polite – especially given that this one has approached with a very small child. ]

Thank you for the offer. That’s right. If possible, we’re aiming to travel west. Is there a way for us to head in that direction without the city continuing to shift and possibly separating us?

[The unicorns may not be too keen on the others, but they don't stop Min-Gi from stepping forward and closer to the rest of the group. The moodier unicorn is still watching Ryan extremely carefully though.]

We'd like to get there quickly if we can. We have a friend we need to get to.

[Quickly, and definitely without risking separation.]

( oh, well, if they've got this handled, lily's more than happy to stay quiet- though she does give the child a small smile, before she remembers what she looks like and glances away bashfully.

Give the small child a little wave with both paws, for both him and Lily. Most useful thing to do here. Totally. #introvertthings]

[Small child is waving... but she has that look on her little face that kids get when you look Unusual but not Bad. She's not used to people looking like this, but her little tail is wagging.]

"Daddy! Isa doggy and a kitty!" [She says, pointing at Mystery and Ryan.] "And a people!"

[The rest of you are a people. Somehow.]

Well, there'sa couple'a ways. [He jostles his shoulder a bit to keep his kiddo entertained meanwhile. Bounce bounce!] The streets don't change for about an hour starting at 'round three. If yer in a rush, y'can fly if anyone's got that! Y'could dip into the neon city below our feet and head west that way since the roads're all clear and pop back out. Or... anyone got the ability t'make a bridge and go up?

[A people. Sure. Min-Gi's okay being lumped in with the others like this. It beats having every person he approaches point out how blue he is currently. The friendlier (?) of the two unicorns approaches to sniff at the little girl. Hello, small child! She thinks you are very cute and would like her nose petted.]

I guess we could try the neon city?

[That seems like the best approach. With how weird time is he's largely stopped wearing a watch so he isn't sure how close they are to 3pm, but if Ydalir needs their help they shouldn't hang around unless they have to. He still glances around for a clocktower or something just in case.]

I don't think any of us got flying...

[Ryan looks down at their feet when the neon city gets brought up, thoroughly distracted by the idea of a whole second city underneath them that they haven't looked at yet. That sounds kind of sick, actually? But he's pulled away from that thought by the wild suggestion of a bridge.]

Wait, what do you mean...up? Like, up and over the whole city?

[He looks down again, but this time at his hands. He can make rainbows. Rainbows are kind of bridge shaped? He's no longer listening to anyone; he's hyperfocused on tossing a little rainbow back and forth in his hands, trying to figure out if this is even an option or if he's being totally ridiculous even thinking of it.]

Oh!

( lily watches ryan with a smile, keeping some space as a precaution. he'd made a rainbow earlier, right? had they simply assumed they'd all be small? )

[A doggy!! The little girl's tail, it is so waggy. And Mystery's, it is also waggy. We're making doggy friends, obviously.

But he does listen to the options, and while the neon city sounds cool as hell, it also sounds... kind of distracting? Like they'll all find it super cool and go on twenty different sidequests and Ydalir will stay stuck wherever she is. Not great.

But a bridge... that's an idea.]

If we have one of those I can run us back and forth over it and not... lose us...

Up and over! It's the best way t'get around. I'd offer myself but it ain't really a thing I got goin' fer me. I got this, though!

[And then he claps his hands, and when they part, there's an origami crane between them. It flaps its paper wings and comes to life, then nestles on top of Lily's hair. This man's daughter is giggling like crazy.]
