It seems only my physical form has changed. I sense no changes to my mental state, and my powers seem to be working as intended. My connection with my staff is still as strong as it was, as well. Others have said the Grove is not benevolent? It could be my changes are designed in such a way as to enable further malevolence?

The Forest is actively hostile, more like. It does not have our best interests at heart, so you might as well throw any thoughts of getting through to it out the window, if you have any.

But yeah. I guess that'd really be the only explanation for it. Sounds like your powers didn't get nerfed either, so I guess they're not powerful enough to overthrow it or something.

I have not the powers of a Witch, no. If the Forest is able to reach between worlds and pluck those it desires, there is little I would hope to gain by going against it. And it has severally altered my perceptions of the world around me.
