Beat's excited, because this is the first Full Moon he's experienced since arriving in the Grove, and he really wants to see how many of his powers have made the cross over with him. Plus he's his strongest when it's Full. It fills him with energy. A desire to run around. He's given Josh a heads up about what he plans on doing.
He doesn't expect it to go so wrong.
The shift (cw: saliva, bared canine teeth) starts off perfectly fine. Limbs elongate, his aspect becomes more bestial, more wolf like. Fur blanches and silvers out, and his eyes glow with the light of the Moon. He lands on all four and shakes, feeling good. Strong, powerful. Itchy?
It starts as a crawl under his skin, something familiar, squirming underneath there. Like when the mushrooms sprouted. Worriedly, he begins to scratch at himself, turning his muzzle to chew. Slowly little purple bell like flowers begin to sprout throughout his fur following in the wake of his raking nails and teeth, peeking through the cuts and bites he makes. Dripping blood as they grow and sprout. Beautiful and deadly. Aconite. Monkshood. Wolfsbane. It doesn't take long for the flowering poison to seep into his blood, igniting burning pain. Driving him to claw at himself to try and rip it out, before his mind sinks into the grip of it as well. And another little voice, seeping in. Whispering. Urging him to let loose. Claw. Bite. Spread.
He was never good at resisting mental influences.
a. don't go round tonight, it's bound to take your life
[ With a loud wavering howl, Beat will put his incredible since of smell to use and begin the hunt. He won't attack those he already smells the Corruption on, but anyone else is fair game. It may be night, and people may be in bed or asleep, but that won't stop Beat from breaking and entering into buildings to stalk down his victims. The hunt is slow, deliberate.
And if he catches sight of someone who smells uncorrupted, fresh? He stops, stares. Eyes glowing, breathing coming out in a warm almost foggy manner. His posture hunched, arms closer to the ground. Seems to be waiting for something. Or thinking, pondering the environment.
Otherwise he moves around the building, claws scraping, motions deliberate as he stalks.
That's not creepy at all. ]
b. i know the end is coming soon
[ Though he will go inside to hunt his prey, he will mostly wander around outside, creating a horrible cacophony of howls and snarls. The Guardians he will try to avoid, especially Zahliya, quickly running from the Gargoyle if he attacks or comes too close. But outside, he's unrestricted as he would have been indoors. He's under the Moon, wild and free, and seems more keen on running around.
He smells of soil and decay, rot, and an underlying cloying scent. And blood, as by now he's undoubtedly injured, either by himself clawing or the fights he might have picked. And if anyone crosses his path, they will instantly have the Werewolf baring down on them. Teeth snapping, claws attempting to grab. The motion is almost rabid. A far cry from his deliberate actions while inside a building.
He will keep this up until the Moon goes down, or until he's successfully put down for a nap. ]

Crouching again, Beat springs straight upwards, claws outstretched to try and give himself extra reach. But even at almost twelve feet, he can't quite get the other. He lands with a hard huff, then turns to begin lopping away, moving on hands and feet. ]

There's the tiniest of fizzling static bleeding outward and up from the scratches on his leg now, along with the blood beginning to soak the edges of the torn fabric, but Josh pays it no mind. It's nothing serious. He'll recover from a scratch.
What has his interest is the fact that Beat seems to want to scare him off and stay out of his space. Is he finally getting tired out? Maybe his chance is coming.
So, he goes invisible again. Follows behind Beat as he lopes off, silent and above. If he can catch him at the right time...]

Annoyed, the werewolf whirls in spot and begins just... barking at the air where Josh is. It's not exactly the most dog-like of barking, it sounds like it's being broadcasted through a horn. Magnified with an unearthly quality to it, clipped and a tiny bit howling.
He jumps again, snapping at air, trying to bite. Where are you!! Get away!! ]
no subject
The snapping and... bass-boosted growl-bark-howling?? don't phase him in the slightest. Anyone else, maybe it would have scared them off, but not him. Still invisible, Josh sighs, frowning down at the werewolf snapping at the air.
The Imprint, like all the others, comes easily to him. Calm. Relax. Comfortable. Tired. The last few times, it didn't stick. He's not holding his breath. But it will work eventually, if he catches it right.]
no subject
Tired.
It's the last bit that finally sneaks in and his shrieking slowly tapers off, as well as the tantrum. He still looks angry and disgruntled, but it seems some of the imprint has finally wormed in. Tired. He's fought. He's been tossed around. Denied. The voice is mad. Bite!! But he can't. He's tired.
The aggressive digging is back but this time, when the hole is long enough that he makes? He flops into it. ]

Watching Beat turn around and dig a hole and lay in it, though, tells him that his Imprint finally worked, even if it was only part of it. With a sigh that's half relief and half incredulous, he finally lowers himself down to the ground. Ooh, or maybe not entirely, as when he touches down on his injured leg it's a little sore. Hm. Best to float just an inch off the ground, he thinks.
But with Beat seemingly mollified, he's willing to risk getting closer. It isn't as if he's entirely defenseless. A nearby stick is lifted telekinetically, and as he renders himself visible once more, he reaches out with it to very gently poke the werewolf in the shoulder.]
Hey there. All done now?
no subject
The stick gets him to snap at it, but he doesn't try and go for anything else. Instead he lays his head in a flump, chin on the ground, angrily eying Josh like he's considering. OOoooh!! He's CONSIDERING getting up!!
But now that he's finally... stopped? He hurts. The injuries he sustained all night long are finally pulling on him - though a lot of the bleeding has stopped, flesh is still open and exposed. The Moon is beginning to go down, and pain settles deep into his bones, where the flowers have wrapped their corrupted little hold around. In his marrow, an ache that won't fade.
So he fixes Josh with a baleful look and lays there. Come closer. ]
here to ruin your romantic moonlit date
... why is he in a pit.

Dark Cacao's voice catches his attention, and briefly, he glances back over his shoulder. He expects Beat is probably too tired to do anything now, but better safe than sorry. He's not letting his guard down.]
He dug it. I think he's finally losing steam.
when the moon hits your eye like a giant sword guy its a painful
Dark Cacao is another matter entirely.
The moment he hears that voice he begins to growl, and though he feels like a tired old wolf that been stalked and has no more fight to give, he nonetheless climbs to his feet. His movements are pained, and the further damage he's taken since Dark Cacao last saw him is obvious.
But he ducks his head down and snarls all the same, though now there's more body language. He's licking his lips, his nose. Stressed. His eyes are wide, whaling. His mouth is open and panting, saliva dripping unchecked from his tongue.
He doesn't want to fight anymore (he's tired, tired, tired and the creatures strings are slack) but he will to protect himself, his hackles raised. ]
no subject
[Yeah, he knows that body language. It is not dissimilar to a hurt cream wolf. He sheathes his sword on his back.... and kneels down, not looking directly at him. Still a few yards away. Not a threat]
He has caused quite a bit of damage tonight. Yet you seem relatively unharmed.
no subject
Still staring. Just in case. ]
no subject
He isn't normally like this. Though, I have my suspicions as to why...
[All those plants... He seemed confident enough about it before changing, so that must be the problem. He'd picked up on pain. Something about it was hurting him.
At the comment, he shrugs his shoulders just a little.]
I've been following him at a distance. Being airborne helps. Mostly.
no subject
Is he under control then? If this is going to be a nightly issue then... steps would have to be taken.
[His tone is even and clam but somehow it's a threat regardless]
no subject
[Josh stands up, folding his arms as he looks down at Beat thoughtfully. Hopefully it won't turn into a nightly issue now that the dam has burst, so to speak. And Beat was able to evade his Imprints and his barriers until he was literally too worn out to be able to resist. He's going to have to come up with a better plan...
Turning just a bit, he glances at Dark Cacao. The threat is clear despite the tone, but Josh doesn't look fazed in the slightest.]
Right now, talking to him about it won't do any good. He's tired and injured. I have no doubt he'd snap at my hand if I tried to touch him. But once he's had some rest, I'll see what can be done.
no subject
[he nods, seeming satisfied with that.]
Keep me informed. If he can not control himself at night, or even just during the full moon... we can build him a safe room perhaps.
[he finally looks at Beat fully, eyes pitying. A young person, barely a man, and beset with a uncontrollable curse. He would not make the same mistakes again]
Surely there must be a way.
no subject
His eyes are still wide open.
He's fast asleep. ]

Josh parts his lips to comment, but can't get a word out before that snore tears through the air, and he turns back to look at Beat with both eyebrows considerably Up.
His eyes are still open. Goodness. What a mess. He sighs, unfolding his arms.]
Well, there he goes. Out like a light. Sounds like a perfect time to get him back to the inn.
[And without a lick of ceremony, Josh extends a hand out in Beat's direction, and the entire ass werewolf just... floats up, out of the wallowing hole, hovering a couple of feet off the ground.]
no subject
Useful.
[ He's seen plenty of magic, but floating is always so wonderfully practical]
no subject
[Especially since Beat weighs far more than he'd ever be able to physically lift, even when Beat is in the body he's supposed to have. This is really the only way he can do it, and it's either this or Beat lays sleeping in a ditch of his own making until later in the afternoon, and we can't be having that.
As Josh lifts him, Beat's limbs dangle limply in the air as the werewolf just snores away, blissfully ignorant to anything that's going on around him. It's been a rough night.]
If you're looking for something to do, why don't you go round up the wounded? Werewolf bites are nasty things, after all.
[A command to counter a command that he probably won't be following.]
no subject
[ If he notices the cattiness he's not reacting at all to it. Hard to tell though, with his resting bitch face.]
But if you have him handled I will leave you to your task.
[seems like that stone wall denseness in the notebook works in person too]
no subject
I've got everything under control here. He's in good hands.
[Beat said that he heals quickly, but with those flowers in the way, that remains to be seen. But that's a problem for later.]
If anything exciting happens, you'll know.
