[Now that everyone is back at the Grove, Passenger has returned to his usual routine of (checks notes) being kind of a cryptid, aka he stops lurking and straight up just goes back to the cafe to resume work there. He needs something to do before his own boredom kills him, after all.

So, welcome back to the Magic Lamp! If you're in need of snacks and drinks, his full menu is sitting framed by the door, but there's a larger menu written in chalk above the counter. It isn't very artsy, but maybe one of his new employees can help make it look nicer? I'm looking at you Fel—

Passenger will be there all day to serve people, and he takes requests too if you don't see something you want — you might have to explain a certain item to him if he's unfamiliar, though, so be prepared for that. He can generally pull off any American-styled deserts, but anything else requires some handholding.

For those of you seeking employment: He is hiring, and the job interview process involves a simple question: Are you willing to work with spice, and do you have a nut allergy? Sargonians are fond of both of those things, so being able to handle both is a must.

[It takes every ounce of his self restraint to not fidget while he waits on the verdict. It took even more not to jump when he heard that voice again and realized it seemed to be coming from Passenger.]

[He makes a decision to not ask about that. Not yet, not at his sort-of job interview.]

[He lets out a sigh of relief when Passenger approves. Oh good. It's one thing to be confident in his cooking around his family, or even in the world he'd been comfortable calling home, but everything about this place was new, so he has felt like walking on eggshells, trying to make good impressions with the people here, even if everyone so far has been pretty nice.]

Thanks- I'm glad you like them! Haha, they were um. A friend taught me how to make them. They're cool because they can be sweet or savory, so it's hard to get tired of them.

You are indeed proficient at baking. The techniques I'll teach you will be simple enough for you to pick up, if this is the provided example. We'll start simple — whenever you can start.

[He is going to eat this pie until it's gone though, he's not getting up until he's done with this.

[Dipper nods. Frankly, he couldn't possibly say no to learning the cuisine of a place he's never heard of or been to, so the whole thing is just one big fun thing for his curiosity sponge to soak up. He wins no matter what here.]

I can start whenever! It's not like business is booming for my other side-hustle, haha. This seems like ...maybe a better use of my time, you know? Food makes people happy.

[He does hear that humming. He hones in on it for a moment.]

Hey, uh. Can I ask a weird question?

You can, yes.

[Just right to the point then, skipping everything else... sorry he's like this Dipper.]

Hhhhave you had any uh, ghost problems lately?

[He'll be to the point if Passenger is.]

[forwander]

...not in particular?

[Little Elliot makes a confused noise like "ghosts"????]

[ghostharasser]

Huh. I see.

[He still hears the voice, but you know what? It ...does sound it's coming from Passenger himself, doesn't it? Is he haunted? Or maybe-]

[Dipper tries not to outwardly show a reaction but, maybe Passenger will notice the way Dipper's eyes dart when Little Elliot speaks.]

Nevermind, then! Just curious.

[...

Passenger himself doesn't seem to think much of it, but Little Elliot suddenly jumps up and down and waves his hands around. "I think he can read us," he says, and Passenger finally seems to get what Dipper is talking about.]

[He sure does hear Little Elliot catch on first, but then now he feels like maybe he's in trouble, so he quickly puts his hands up with a little step back-]

It wasn't on purpose! I-I can try and shut it out. Sometimes I can pick up on stuff without meaning to. It happens with ghosts, too, which is why I thought maybe this place was haunted!

There's no need to apologise. It was merely a question. [He is literally the least-offended man on the planet right now.] My psyche has been split for many years. What you are hearing is "Elliot" — "myself" as a child.

[ghostharasser]

[You're ...a little too casual about that, aren't you?]


[He processes that he's not mad, which is good, because he literally did not meant to eavesdrop on his psyche, but then what he says raises a whole bunch of questions he isn't sure is polite to ask.]

Huh. You two ...[He thinks of how to phrase this.] seem like pretty distinct, separate consciousnesses in a way that kind of surprised me.

You could say that. I believe it is a symptom of my Oripathy. Others here know of Elliot, and you are hardly the first, but we are not separate personalities by any means.
