how to care for your sick bunny
Who: Mafuyu & You
What: That sick log I wanted two months ago-
When: Early winter
Where: The inn, probably!
Warnings: Illness!
( mafuyu's been quiet since her arrival, this is true on every level. but when the snow finally begins to fall, it worsens considerably. it may be a day between when you see her next, and there's the harsh sounds of coughing behind her inn room's door- she mostly goes for tea or a light soup, something easy to make and easy to stomach, before hobbling back to her room without a word to anyone.
at some point, a little deernicorn can be seen prodding the door open to go outside, leaving the door cracked. it goes on it's merry way but if it sees you in the hallway it at least beeps gently before looking back to her door and then resuming its way outside.
... there's another rough, body-shaking cough. )

... I thought it'd pass soon...

[He knows that you are the stubborn sort to try and do things on your own. He imagines this is how this happened to begin with. Once she's had the water, he'll carefully set her back down.]
It doesn't matter...if Mafuyu-san will have me, I will do my best to help. I'll be back in a moment.

( she does shrink down though, averting her eyes- guilt. she absolutely resisted rest...
...
he's going to leave, isn't he? somehow that's terrifying. )
...Y-you'll be back, right?

[Said a touch too miserably himself. As he heads to the door, he pauses, frowning a little. Then, he offers her a reassuring smile.]
Mafuyu-saaan, even your adorable pleading expression could not keep me away for very long, fufu. I'll be back soon.

( that gets her to move a little, confused and flustered. )
Um- o-okay. Okay...
( ...
is she flush from the fever or blushing? )

[Though down in the kitchen he gets to work quickly. A basic cough syrup is easy to make and from ingredients he's certain are here in the communal kitchen. Honey, lemon, and some fresh ginger boiled together in a pan...]
[He also just gathers up a few cloths and a bowl of warm water, too. When he's finally back, he's been gone for ...about 20 minutes, but still he returns with things!]
Mafuyu-saaaan...!

That was forever-
( it was TWENTY MINUTES )

[He will come over with his little jar of syrup and a spoon, setting down the rest of his things on whatever table she might have in the room.]
May I assist you in sitting up again...? I have something that should help soothe that wretched cough of yours.

( mumbled with a nod as she at least turns herself around so she's not laying on her stomach.
the only table is the one by the window and the nightstand, which is probably closer for his needs. it's bare as can be, save for the cushion left on the floor for the deernicorn to sleep on.
...
it feels incredibly hollow, with it's only other occupant as listless and sick as she is. )
Don't leave again. Please...

[Say "ah" Mafuyu, he's got a spoon full of something-]
...Ah, I am dreadfully sorry for making you worry, Mafuyu-san. I... [He can't possibly decline when she asks him like that, but also... the feeling that someone would say that to him, in this place, it makes his heart both sing and ache at the same time.] I will stay ...for however long you would like me. I've nowhere I'd rather be.
[Now, he will administer the syrup. She can't ...taste it, sadly, but it will feel nice on her throat. It's just honey, lemon, and ginger, but it works wonders.]
I've prepared some cloths for your forehead, too.
