how to care for your sick bunny
Who: Mafuyu & You
What: That sick log I wanted two months ago-
When: Early winter
Where: The inn, probably!
Warnings: Illness!
( mafuyu's been quiet since her arrival, this is true on every level. but when the snow finally begins to fall, it worsens considerably. it may be a day between when you see her next, and there's the harsh sounds of coughing behind her inn room's door- she mostly goes for tea or a light soup, something easy to make and easy to stomach, before hobbling back to her room without a word to anyone.
at some point, a little deernicorn can be seen prodding the door open to go outside, leaving the door cracked. it goes on it's merry way but if it sees you in the hallway it at least beeps gently before looking back to her door and then resuming its way outside.
... there's another rough, body-shaking cough. )

It's strange that she doesn't respond to the taste, but... it's possible that her taste buds are just severely affected by the illness. He's seen it happen more than once, so he doesn't think much of it. While Mafuyu eats and drinks, though, Jiaoqiu will glance around her room while scratching things down on a small notepad. It's notes for himself for later, but...
Now that he's not actively in doctor mode, he is noticing how sparse the room seems to be. Even his own short stay has accumulated some things. ]
... pardon me for asking, but have you been here long?

( another sip, another lack of reaction- though she does quickly put the tea down for a harsh cough. owies... )
Why?
no subject
[ He doesn't want to risk making her uncomfortable. No sense in that, especially while she isn't feeling well. His pencil stops scribbling, and he turns back to look at her. ]
It helps to make note of how long you've been here so that we can establish a medical history and determine possible causes.

( she's very quiet for a moment, like she's trying to think but it's hard with the fever. )
I've only gotten sick one other time since middle school... I'm eighteen now. It was a year ago, when my work piled up too much unexpectedly. I don't remember it well, though. Um... aside from a zinc deficiency, I don't remember anything from my doctors though. But they don't know about that, either.
( what is... a filter? )
no subject
Ah, I see.
[ Zinc deficiency noted. ]
Have you felt stressed recently?

I had a fight with my mom and had to run away from home to get away from her, got kidnapped to another world, attacked by monsters and had to kill my evil clone.
Yes. Yes I have been very stress-
( she bursts into a series of harsh coughs again, the sort that shake the whole body. her breathing is ragged for a moment and she just leans back. )

I suggest you don't get yourself worked up. It will undo the progress.
[ Stress-related illness... The last couple of months have been stressful, and there's not much that can be done about that. There's no avoiding what happens here. ]
It sounds like the best course of action is to boost your immune system and implement a calming regime. If followed correctly, it may be able to combat the things that this place likes to put us through. I can't guarantee it, but it's better than nothing.

... but that's about it. )
... Sorry...
no subject
It's alright. You aren't feeling well.
[ He's quiet again for a moment as she tries the broth, watching for a response and...
Nothing. Hmm. ]
How is it? Tolerable?
no subject
( ...
that's it?
that's it. )
... Are you expecting something else?
no subject
Typically, when I add "too much" chili to a dish, I get complaints. It's nice to see someone with a high spice tolerance for a change.
no subject
Yes, that's what it is.
no subject
Well! He won't press it, but he will certainly tuck it away in his mind. ]
Well, it should warm you and stimulate your lungs in the process. Plus, the broth is filled with nutrients that your body currently needs to get better, so please, drink all that you can stomach.
Do you have any questions? Anything else that's troubling you?
no subject
( she takes another drink, resting against the pillows. her throat feels... not wartorn, at least. so that's nice. )
no subject
Well, if you do think of anything, you know how to get in touch with me. For the time being, I suggest a lot of rest and a nutritious diet. The rest, I think, is the most crucial.
