It doesn't take long for Truthless Recluse to make a decision, after enough time spent around Shadow Milk Cookie. The Beast has come from a future where a lot has happened, but if that's true that means there's a chance Truthless' own future is out there, waiting.

So one night, he walks into the Forest without hesitation. It's a future he needs, a future he wants.

And he gets it.

When he steps out of the Forest again, he's almost back to being the Pure Vanilla he was before, but now he's so much more. His Soul Jam has returned and is more than it was, and it echoes with the Knowledge he's gained. He's no longer blinded by Truth or hidden by Deceit, and he can stare in wonder around him with eyes unclouded by either.

And his soul aches in a way that he has yet to understand, yet feels more whole than it ever has.

The first thing he's going to do? Head home. He has some spouses to kiss.

[ He squeezes Livio's hand gently, then moves to wrap his arms around the man instead. It's mostly a hug around his head given the size difference, but it's a warm hug anyways. Filled with love as he tucks him against him. ]

I thought it as well. I had fallen into a very deep abyss I thought there was no coming back from. I was wrong, and I am glad to be here with you again. Shh, my dear, shh...

[livio lets the hug happen, and is mindful not to squeeze the life out of pv with his own embrace. he can't help the tears that still fall, but he does his best not to be excessively blubbery about it. in fact, pure vanilla's words make him think...]

... Is Truthless Recluse... still a part of you? [it feels wrong to be grateful that another person is just gone in order to get pure vanilla back.]

[ And he will gently raise a hand to stroke his fingers through the back of Livio's hair, combing through the strands, rocking him from side to side gently. Tender soothing motions. ]

Yes. I am a culmination of all that has happened to me in my home world now. The Truth and the Deceit that followed. But don't worry. I am as you remember me. And know that even if I was lost in a lot of things at that time, I still loved you.

[he sniffles softly, allowing pure vanilla to comfort him. it helps sober him up, as does learning more about his situation.]

You're not the same, then. You're more. [he squeezes ever so slightly at being told he was loved. livio will never get used to that.] I love you, too. And I'm glad -- who you were before didn't have to die so you could be who you are now.

[ And he squeezes back, scratching lightly as Livio's head in a light little touch, smiling gently. ]

More indeed, but at my core I am who I once forgot. [ He sighs softly, a little amused. ] It is quite the giant mess.

[ The return love makes him smile and he tilts his head down, smiling down at him with his eyes open. Sweet Livio. ]

Perhaps not, but is it odd to say I am thankful for it? I don't think I would be as whole as I am now without it.

[sweet livio?? no!!! sweet pv!!!! he looks up at pure vanilla then, suddenly self-conscious of his tears, rubs his face on his sleeve.]

Ain't weird at all. 'n if y'need anything -- help gettin' it sorted, or reacclimatin' yerself or -- jeez, anything. I'm here. I'm always here for you.

[ The little wipe of his arm on his eyes makes Vanilla bring his hands around to cup Livio's face to wipe them away for him. Sweetheart. His smile is soft, before he plants a little kiss on Livio's forehead and snuggle him back in. Ugh, big sweetheart. ]

I know you are, my dear. And I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate you. Would you spend time with me in the garden in the School? It will help me unwind quite a lot.

[ He strokes his fingers back into Livio's head to pet him gently too, his smile widening. ]

And you know I'm always here for you as well, yes?

[livio feels a little embarrassed, being comforted like a child at his age and size, but for pure vanilla, he'll gladly humble himself. he doesn't think it has the same effect as the petting of his own hair, but nonetheless he pats pv's back gently as can be.]

'course I will. Whenever y'want, just say the word.

[there's a moment of hesitation, guilt. he doesn't deserve to be so comforted by pv all the time. not when pv is the one who's just been through so much.]

Don't worry about me. You've done so much for me already.

[ If Vanilla still had his tail, it would be wiggling out of joy that Livio is allowing him to dote on him. He's missed the man and his sweet nature. He curls a little to lay head head on Livio's, which is rather easy with him down on his knees like this, it makes it far easier to reach it.

And he closes his eyes, content to simply hold Livio like this. He feels the guilt and hesitation, and he smiles softly and rubs his cheek against the fluff of Livio's head. ]

My dear, you are one of the things that brings me joy. Of course I will worry about you, and fret, and yearn for your happiness. Just as you yearn for mine. Even now, you worry of what I have gone through and feel you are asking too much of me, unaware that being allowed to love you like this soothes so many pains.

[livio glances up at pv with those soulful puppydog eyes, not even trying to hide how touched he is by those words. he doesn't know if he believes them entirely -- not that he thinks pure vanilla would ever lie to him, just that he can't quite wrap his head around the logic -- but he appreciates it nonetheless.]

If it really helps, then... I'm glad.

[ Oogh, right to his heart, look at that sweet face, he chose the wrong moment to open his eyes because he's punched straight with those puppy eyes. Well, in return, Livio is going to get little forehead kisses. Get absolutely adored you big sweet man. He wishes he had his minotaur strength, he wants to pick him up and hold him. Squish him.

He beams in reply, a little surprised by the request, but absolutely touched. ]

Oh sweetheart, I most certainly would never say no! I would love it! Afterwards maybe we can try cooking something together?

Oh. 'course. That'd be real nice...

[come to think of it, he hasn't really cooked with someone yet. he can only imagine it would be a great bonding opportunity.]

[ Get fucking peepaw sunshine beamed at, baby boy. And another big ol' hug. Without his minotaur strength how frail he is is truly on display with his hugs but ignore it. ]

[livio does notice the difference, and it makes him check his own strength all the more. he hugs back, just firm enough to match pv's embrace without hurting him. peepaw get loved too!!!]
