In case anyone was not aware, a group of us is attempting to build a portal to a divine library on Beiwe's advice. Unfortunately, two members of our team have gone missing and are not expected to return. The project will continue, but additional help would be greatly appreciated.

Specifically, we need more hands. There's a lot to be done, including heavy lifting, and the more people we have to help the faster it will go.

There's no need to ask me for permission, simply come to the center of the Grove where the portal is being built and ask what you can do.

You'll have to ask Stanford for specifics. I believe the basic structure is finished. Otherwise we have a large number of odd supplies lying around in piles, and we have yet to collect the metals required or the tools to work them.

From my understanding, the young man with the compass arm was able to find everything needed. We just need to put it together...

That may well be the case. Regardless, it can't remain in large piles in the center of town forever.

There is someone who may be able to help, but he was recently injured greatly. I want to wait for his recovery to ask.

Might that be the same person Pure Vanilla Cookie thought might be interested in teaching about the magic of Witches?

Most likely.

He is welcome, but there's no need for him to push himself if he's unwilling.

I don't know if he'd be unwilling. Just needing to recover.

I don't really know him that well, though, so I ultimately cannot say.

I would help again, but I was warned that my Corruption might make this more difficult. As such, I'll stay back from where you're building it until my experiments are finished.

When one of those "missing people" and I were speaking about it, however, we did hear the voice of the Goddess saying we were on the right track. She seemed like she otherwise didn't know what she was doing, or what we should do.

(And I do apologise for the piles. I had it on a table initially, but my alchemy is partly controlled by my own emotions, and therefore the table I conjured melted after I got irate.)

You must be confident if you're only asking for manual labour.

Transporting large or heavy materials is no problem for me. I'll handle it, assuming your work is up to my standards.

Magic is not my area of expertise. Stanford seems to be doing well enough there. But if you find the Craftsmanship to be lacking, I won't stop you from making yourself useful.

Ugh. You people are too reliant on fickle methods like magic. What's the power source going to be? Do you have a way to be sure it's going to right location before you drop someone into it? How can you even be sure something like that will be safe to use? What happens if there's an issue on the other end and it shuts down while people are inside it?

Nasod researchers mastered dimensional transport centuries ago, and even demons seem to have a strong grasp of similar technologies. Since I've worked with portals constructed through both methodologies in the past, creating one by myself would be a snap. All I need are the appropriate materials and the target coordinates.

Those would be questions to ask Stanford. He's the one doing the design work. I'm only helping where I can and making sure no one does anything stupid.

For instance, walking through a door without knowing it won't kill you.

This Stanford guy is the man in charge, huh? Fine then. I'll go and ask him myself since you don't know anything useful.

So what's your area of expertise? Security?

Common sense, unfortunately.

And Craft, I suppose, since hardly anyone here knows how to use it.

Crafting what?

Craft is the practice of using natural forces to manipulate the world around you. It can be used to create almost anything.

[psychokinesia]

That's too vague. Using that description, you could call nearly anything "Craft".

Are magnets "Craft"? Is dropping something out a window "Craft"? Both of those are natural forces being used to manipulate objects. Does it require any kind of tools? Be more specific.

It seems like a waste of energy, but yes, I could use Craft for either of those things.

I believe what you mean, however, is using one's hands or a specific metal. Craft is a technique, and what we call those forces we manipulate using that technique.

Those "two" that you refer to were and are very important to no small number of the Grove's denizens. I appreciate that you have much to do, and that you have decided to shoulder this burden, but I would ask that you at least employ a touch more empathy when speaking of this loss in the future.

I doubted that you did. But sometimes we all need reminders of how our words can hurt.

... How can I help you, though? What do you currently have need of?

As mentioned, we're more in need of hands to move supplies than anything else. We seem to have gathered a large number of items, and at the moment very little is being done with them.

Hired muscle, then? I was hoping for a bit more, but I shall not complain. I will get right to work.

If you wish to help contribute to the design, you can consult with Stanford. I'm afraid his work is beyond me.
