[There's only one line in the netbook. That's it. That's all. You'll probably recognize Verso's dumb, French handwriting. What is French handwriting? Whatever Verso has. Anyway.]
I WARNED YOU ABOUT THE DAMN CLOWNS.
I WARNED YOU ABOUT THE DAMN CLOWNS.

Can't say the same about the creatures here. Did you know they dressed as my friend? Put a mask on top of his mask, even. Pretty terrible impression, if you ask me.

( there's a heavy pause. what does she say? )
my best friend. But she'd never be so cruel as the circus folk are here.

Cold comfort, I know.
Will you be alright?

You certainly deserve better than to be tormented like this.
Don't forget that part.

Yes, I suppose you're right about that.

More seriously, it's easier to get through society if you can read people, isn't it? It helped with Mom a lot, too.

[Says the guy whose dad painted his monster form as a creature with a fuckbillion masks.]
Generally, though, I find that it's better if parents can be read. What sort of parent makes you go through all of that guesswork?
cw: emotional abuse, emotional manipulation
Mom's favorite method of control was to put me in charge of her own emotional regulation. If I was good, she'd be happy. If I wasn't, she'd cry and make it known it was my fault.
I had to read the signs before they were even written.
( mom's most treasured thing was her own reputation.
so if that woman ever shows up here, it's already ruined. )

And anyone who treats their child that way.

Do you prefer sour or sweet apples?
[This is Luca being soooo niceys. He hates sweet things and yet - ]

... wait no, she's discussed this before. she can. she can do this. even if it might disappoint him... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... )
I don't know. I go by texture because I'm
sick.
And I can't taste things.
Scent and texture help a lot, but
I'm sorry.

The good thing is that I keep my pie crusts crisp, and try to allow a hefty amount of spice.
It should still be satisfactory.
And if not, we will try something else.

Everything I've ever had that you made felt like love, though. I promise.
no subject
Yes, I suppose it was.
I am glad to hear that. And I will try to be more mindful of your condition going forward. I want you to be able to enjoy it in some capacity, at least.

Joshua is trying to find a way to help it though, and during our trip to Night Vale I was able to get some medication that may also help. )

I will have to ask if I can help him along, though. I would feel better, knowing that you had one less burden to bear.

I'm pretty sure no one was arguing with you on the clowns being sus...
[ Who would? They're freaky. ]

Warnings from several months ago, I might add.

Huh. Weird. I got bad vibes about the place pretty much immediately...

... Not really. better that you not suffer this hell any longer than necessary.

Either way it's been better here than where I was, so I can't complain too much.
no subject
Though I may question where you came from. That is... rather concerning. You realize that, right?

Mayo-san and I were both dropped into a different place before this, and suffice to say it wasn't pleasant. It was known as the Nest, but that's about all we knew.

I had hoped that much had simply been a product of the dream.

[ Lies. He just doesn't want to burden anyone with it, let alone in the netbook ]
