... This may or may not have been the second year in a row, if I am honest.
It would not bother me so much, but given the circumstances
It feels a little silly.

That is more or less what I am trying to figure out.
Though I am not sure which answer I would prefer at this point. It would be nice to know if it was not my fault for forgetting something that important.
But it would also add to our troubles, were that the case.

I suppose so. There is enough commonality between the shared months and seasons, as well as similarities in holidays, that I have always had a rough idea as to the time of year.

... What is a Ducklett a l'oran?

It's a fancy recipe they sell in all the crazy expensive restaurants. It's roast Ducklett with crispy skin, served with a brown sauce spooned over the top of it made from a base of Dubwool stock and flavoured with the juice and zest of Oran berries. Then you use a sweet-sour gastrique to make the sauce a little sweeter. The sauce is supposed to be kinda thick and sticky and acidic but pleasant, y'know?

I can make it, it's just eeeexpensive. And I'm more of a home chef and not a restauranteur.

And also there aren't Oran berries here I don't think. At least Heimr seemed confused when I asked for them!

It sounds as if you are describing oranges? Is that correct? A citrusy fruit?
And something I have actually eaten before.

Okay so Oran berries are the round, fist-sized blue ones. They're sweet and nice, but not overwhelming. And Sitrus berries are shaped kind of like a gourd, yellow with speckly flesh, and they're tart. Uh, in terms of plant genetics... I don't actually know anything about that! Sorry.

Also: I wasn't intending to draw the Dubwool with any specific gender but if you wanna say it's a ram that's cool it can be a ram.

See, I understand what you are saying, in a way. And I understand that there is likely interworldly differences at play.
What confuses me is that you are describing a dish that would normally be served with something citrusy. Yet the fruit is not.

... I was going to say that Rams traditionally have horns but.
That would not be very inclusive of me now would it? Shame on me.
