Good morning! This is Sesa. Vouivre, weapons engineer, DND master, video game wizard, etc etc etc

I’m to believe we do not have cameras here, so I am going to just have to make do with my impeccable drawing skills.

Can someone identify this mushroom for me? I am foraging on the off chance we have another famine before this wretched cold ceases.

Amanita muscaria. You could eat it, but if you were relying on it in times of famine, you would have a fairly bad time.

Your body would reject it, if you will. It's unlikely it would kill you outright.

Though I'm gathering that it is, in fact, another species entirely?

I would appreciate that! My attempts at hunting have been rather poor as of late as well, since the forest has very few animals to speak of…but mushrooms and vegetation it seems to keep in abundance.

As food. The additional limbs should be obvious enough.

Oh no, it isn't that! You see, the deer are a fairly recent addition to the Grove. They weren't here at all a few months ago...but I suppose with the seasons slowly beginning to change, it was only a matter of time before we began seeing new fauna.

We should make use of them, then. Venison is good meat.

I couldn't agree more! Though I may ask someone else to go hunting with me again the next time I do. The weapon I use isn't exactly conducive to bringing back...an intact kill, let's just say.

Why would you want your weapon to explode on you?

The weapon itself does not explode. It fires explosive rounds that explode on impact. Does that make sense?

I have engineered a few to detonate a few seconds after they hit their target, but those I use for more rare occasions.

Exactly! Though I must admit, I don’t like to use it unless absolutely necessary. I consider myself to be largely a pacifist, you see.
