WITCHING HOUR

Time passes oddly in this realm. Surely you've seen it by now. Looking to the sky grants different views and moons every night, almost disconnected. The weather is impossible to predict when the clouds don't truly matter. All you have to rely on is that a day and night cycle exists and even then... ... Well. Surely it doesn't matter. Right? (Or does it?) But perhaps more importantly is that tonight, the night is clear and crisp. The flowers in the grove face the moon almost like reverent followers to a preacher. And should you follow their open gaze, you will see that the moon is bright and full and red.

Rusty whines and the Trader has drawn her stall in, and even the sleepy turtle she rides is more alert. The Shopkeeper hisses quietly to himself, barring the windows slowly- and if you're close by, he tells you that it'd be best you do the same. He dares not close the door yet though- just in case someone needs the shelter.

A howl pierces the sky, and it's quickly joined by others, echoing through the woods. The crunch of leaves and sticks and roots breaking under hulking steps makes a presence known- and white, frenzied eyes can be seen in the shadows. Not just one pair- if you're outside, or at the window, you can see dozens from all angles. As they get closer to the clearing, their sharp teeth glint in the moonlight. Another howl, and the wolf-men charge. Fight or defend your residence- but the beasts do not go down easily. Not when wounds slowly stitch themselves back together.

to surround the inn and general store. He'll keep it up as long as he can, but... he has to still be outside to do it.

RENNUID... RENNUID, DARLING, THEY ARE WOLVES THEY CAN STILL SMELL- does he have any method of defense or staying out of claws range like. c. climbing a tree or something-

yes!! He's up on a lil. ledge. of the face of the inn. and he can mist form to move around but if they're fast they can catch him and knock him out of it if he gets too close

The smarter of the werewolves will absolutely be trying to get to him. They will not be deterred. The ones who will look him directly in the eye and start looking for ways up are the ones to really watch out for. Good luck, keep me updated!

[ Will Cast Prestidigitation a bunch of times to attempt to make the werewolves confused with a bunch of different smells. She notices what Rennuid does and follows up with her own ideas! ]

Oh thank god, I don't have to maul the other elf. This does seem to whip the werewolves up into a frenzy though- too many scents, too much unspilled blood, it's kind of a sensory nightmare.

Though blinded in the darkness, the werewolves are increasing their frenzy, attacking anything and everything they can find. Including each other.

[ Observing through her Darkvision, she witnesses two werewolves engaged in a gruesome act of attempting to devour one another. This proves to be an utterly horrifying sight. However, such horrifying scenes are not unfamiliar to her by now. Acting instinctively, she swiftly switches to survival mode. Taking the chance to cast her spell of Invisibility upon herself, and stealthily retreat from the scene. ]

9S, having learned nothing, attempts to hack a werewolf. What happens next?

He'll get... a lot of imprints. Hunger and agony and how only ripping flesh like they too were ripped helps. Patchwork. Like a multiple people and multiple beasts were torn apart and fused together to create the wolves. It hurts it hurts it hurts you should hurt too. Where are you? I will find you. I'll find you and you'll be one of us in the end. The forest takes all.





He gets the distinct feeling that his target werewolf is looking directly at him. Calculating.

If he's not cautious, it will be going directly after him with the intent of dragging him into the woods to. You know. Maim and eat him until it realizes he's mechanical. You can't eat metal.

Hmmm... Does it throw off his influence or can he hijack it at all?

It seems to be fighting, and trying to influence him right back. There's tender flesh right behind him to rip and tear into- don't you want to? Why waste the chance- rend, or let them in to do it themselves.

It may well become a battle of wills, with the wolf trying just as hard to turn 9S against his own drive.

Perhaps luckily for those around him, 9S' own core programming would refuse him that action even if he didn't have experience struggling against being hacked or a virus corrupting his systems. His core programming dictates he love and protect Mankind above all else, and while he has awareness of this programming, it's something he cannot change (unlike jailbreaking his NFCS) even if he wanted to.

If the werewolf's mind is unhackable, 9S would most likely suffer physical recoil damage from the failed attempt. This scales with the power of a foe, and 9S being endgame caps at lv99 — androids do, funnily enough, have a concept of level(ing up).

It would take great effort but since he has Core Programming on his side, 9S could potentially overpower a wolf. But his hold will be shaky! What will he do...

He'll take what he can get. 9S' options being limited since he obviously hasn't truly subjugated the enemy, he'll try to force it to fight off other wolves that approach the building for however long he can maintain influence. It might buy others even a little recovery time.

yeah okay. i don't want to make 3 rolls for it because it's funny. Caoimhe charms 3 werewolves. They go from trying to gnaw on her to just sitting there like :3c with their tails wagging.

They are still hostile to Elsword, as are the rest of the pack, but hey. She has three dogs (for an hour).
