I apologize for the inconvenience and you may disregard me as some dust left on an abandoned floor, but if it is not too much trouble I have a few questions.

I heard ...howls in the night, and saw the eyes of ...of something I dare not speak of in the inn windows last night.


What can we do about fortifications to the town- are there...have there been attacks in the past? I have not seen a cemetery here yet, but if the grounds have been disturbed we could invite something sinister. I am very new here, so I would like to know what I should do. To weather another attack by demons, I do not think my heart can take it.

Where I am from, a "timecraft" is a vehicle that can travel through time. I have built one myself! However, you seem to be asking about a skill. I am a chronokinetic, yes!

Whoever told you that must not have tried very hard! Time travel is not easy, of course, for most people anyway. But it is thoroughly possible.

[Weird, Siffrin is Scissors type too. The frown remains, but he goes ahead and adds a big cloak to his doodle with another pair of scissors beside it.]

That's what the books say. Apparently even pausing time for one second would take so much energy it'd kill a person.

TK's doodle now has a giant swoop of hair. Like, huge. That's entirely too much hair.]

I see! Well, that is not entirely incorrect. Manipulating time is certainly complex enough that you would normally require a time machine of some fashion to do so!

[There's a pause here as she draws an arrow - that somehow manages to look an awful lot like a snaking clock hand - from the words "time machine" to the scissors on her own doodle.]

I, on the other hand, could pause time for much longer without much more effort than thinking of it.

[The hair of all thing gives Siffrin pause. It's just...uncomfortably reminiscent of the King, especially with the subject of conversation being what it is. The arrow pointing at the scissors is just confusing, mostly. Are they saying a person's craft type has something to do with it? But he's pretty sure the King was Rock type...

He stops adding to his own doodle.]

I've never heard of a time machine before.

[Could someone create a device that would alleviate the strain of Time craft on the user? It's kind of an unsettling thought. Personal experience has shown that time is not something to be messed with.]

[There's an even longer pause this time. On Siffrin's end, it's filled with a surge of unease and some wild options flying through his mind – immediately running into the woods to hide, maybe, or agreeing just so he can destroy whatever this machine is.

He takes a moment to breathe slowly, in and out.]

[—and then, continuing immediately after that in almost indistinguishable handwriting:]

Ok. I'm fine, actually! Maybe another time.

[they could literally just like. talk to Siffrin, through his brain, in this very moment, but are they going to do that? no☆]

[Siffrin stares at the notebook for a second, confused and then quickly irritated as he realizes what's going on here. Really, Loop?]

[Meanwhile, Timekeeper has been watching the furious scribble exchange and deduced that someone else must be interfering. How funny!]

Now, later, it's all time in the end! Though I suppose if I can't jump to it like usual, now is as good as any. Since you seem preoccupied, I'll come look for you myself.

[Aaaaaaand there won't be any further notebook communication from her, at least for a bit. But she is now out flying around - yeah, the giant pair of scissors was literal, she's riding them like a witch would a broom - looking for someone fairly wizardy.]

[There's probably some continued scribble war for few seconds before Siffrin notices the response, and then he gives a tired, victorious huff of breath and shoots Loop a last brief call.]

[If TK does in fact come across him, the look is definitely pretty wizardy, which is ironic because he's actually a rogue, but whatever. He's currently sitting in the grass outside against the base of a tree, one hand held up to the side of his irritated-looking face like he's miming talking on a phone.]

[Loop is not in the tree, but they are hiding in a tree... somewhere not-so-far-away. Close enough to spot a flying person with too much hair and a big tophat and a nauseating aura.

[The fun thing about being outside is that it makes you easier to find! Also Timekeeper can sense a faint thread of something that has been through altered time, like blood in the water. (Or perhaps burnt sugar?)

Hmmm, pointy hat, cloak, eyepatch, smells like time gone wrong, this seems like the right person! If they're not, they're at least interesting enough to bother! So, Siffrin's call will be thoroughly interrupted by a woman dropping from the sky on golden scissors that sure are as big as a person, landing lightly on the grass just behind him and the tree and twirling said scissors once before resting their point against the ground.]

So, you were not so hard to find after all! It seems I can certainly rely on this place to bring me interesting people! I am Timekeeper Cookie.

[There's a strange creature with her too - a little dark orb with a face, surrounded by a couple of slowly turning cogwheels like some kind of armillary sphere. Continuum Cog is just floating in place over Timekeeper's shoulder for now, staring.]

[Siffrin startles a little at the sudden impact, spinning around with their one eye wide. There's a pause, and he slowly puts his hand down. Sorry to hang up on you, Loop :( ]

[There's a lot to take in here. The scissors are both literal and huge (???) and the little floating creature is disconcertingly reminiscent of a Sadness. There's a smell like a bakery in the air, one that immediately evokes the thought of croissants and subsequently The Incident, and Siffrin makes a face without thinking about it.]
