So, we're going inside the radio tower now—]

[Gross, go be lovebirds somewhere else.]

[For Pav's sake he does not voice this and waits by the door. They have to do some blood magic here, he thinks. Pavlova has the book.]

[ He does in fact! he was a little distracted but he leafed through to the right page and is checking what he needs to do... ]

Well, it doesn't specify that we need any kind of rune or sigil to open it...

[ Well, there was one easy way to do this, then.

He pulls out one of his arrows from his quiver, tucking the book away, and draws the sharp edge across his palm. His expression twists, but not as much as one might expect... and then he presses his hand to the door, smack in the middle of the bloodstone array. ]

Ahaha well, he did warn him...

He doesn't fight giving his dad his hand though. He was just going to heal it himself but he'll give his dad the peace of mind here. ]

[ The moment that Pavlova's bloodied hand presses to the cool stone, the door reacts. The groove splitting the stone into two "doors" fully splits into a separation, the array on both halves lighting up with a soft, red glow. No need to open the doors, because they'll swing open right on their own.

Slowly, of course. They're automatic doors, and they're not designed to swat out the person that just applied the proper activation. That would just be silly.

And when they open, the inside of the building is... dark! What will you do? ]

'Course it's dark. Anyone got a flashlight?

( does not know phones can be flashlights now. )

[ It only takes a moment for Mizuki's hair and spots on his skin both start glowing a pale blue when he walks inside. It's not a ton of light or anything like that, but it's certainly enough to make out vague shapes around them. Sort of like trying to look around in the moonlight - pale enough to probably need some secondary light source, but bright enough to work if there's nothing else. ]

[Shadow Milk will tap his staff on the ground and also give them a small light source from the eye on his staff. Combined with Mizuki it should be enough to light their way a bit. There, he's so generous, you know!]

[ With the two combined lights, the room is now lit enough to see, at least well enough to know where you're going!

The room you've found yourselves in seems to be a lobby, complete with a reception desk and a small handful of chairs neatly split in even numbers at the corner of the room by a small, round table holding a slew of magazines. A nest of owls sits in one corner of the room, as is customary for any radio station worth its salt. The reception desk sits empty, though there is a desk phone and a computer and various sticky notes and pens. Everything seems to be covered in a very fine layer of dust.

There does not, however, appear to be any door except the front door. ]

[ Pavlova fiddles with his once book now phone and uses the screen for a more focused light source as he looks around. He doesn't wanna bother the owls but he's gonna snoop around the desk!

He'll leave the computer itself for now, he's curious about the notes and whatever might be in the drawers etc. ]

Ah, chaval — the phone has a flashlight. Here...

[If Pavlova will let Thorns see the phone, he'll show him how to turn the flashlight on. And Sidney and Shadow Milk too, because he knows your asses don't know what a smartphone flashlight looks like.]

Mizuki, you're good with computers. Do you want to take that? I'll look for anything hidden for now. I have a feeling we're not seeing the full picture somehow.

[ Mizuki nods and heads over to the computer to see if he can turn it on and attempt to open Minesweeper glean anything off of it. ]

what do his Special Eyes (the ability to see both danger (manifesting through red scratches on the ground/walls/whatever else) and 'important/useful' things (manifesting in a gold highlight that can even be seen through at least one wall)) see, kaed? )

[No door? That's pretty strange, but that just means there's probably some other means of coming and going in this place. Shadow Milk uses his Special Eyes (through the staff because blind.) to see if anything screams Deceit to him. This could mean secret entrances or trap doors or something like that.]

[He will go as far as to touch the walls to see if anything might be inscribed on them magically. testing for the hidden stuff!!]

[ Thorns will find that he is drawn in the direction of the rear wall to the left of the desk. There is no visible doorway here, however. Just a tall shelf with some succulents on it. They are nowhere near a window, but they seem to be thriving nonetheless.

Sidney will find that there is nothing appearing in red (thankfully!) but there does seem to be a gold-highlighted object appearing on the succulent shelf! It's one of the succulents itself. There's another small, square highlight on the computer desk.

Pavlova will find various post-it notes. Some are old lunch orders for someone named Cecil. Some are names and phone numbers. One has what looks like a few passwords written on it, each scribbled out save for the one at the bottom of the list. Inside the drawers are pens and paper and a folder of invoices and receipts, and a bag of trail mix for snacking on.

Mizuki will find that the computer does boot up, but there seems to be nothing of note on it, or at least not that's readily apparent. But he does get to open Minesweeper, so that's a plus! There's also 3D Space Pinball if he's feeling froggy.

Shadow Milk will find that the walls are just normal walls, for the most part. His vision detects nothing that screams Deceit, but one particular touch to the wall seems to feel... spongey? And vaguely wet. When Shadow Milk touches it, it makes a groaning noise similar to heavily creaking wood, and the spongey wetness abruptly grows around his hand, trapping him there in a suddenly sticky, moist prison.

The computer that Mizuki is playing on makes a noise in response. ]

[The various blorps that surround his metal arm point at the wall and succulents like !!!! This must look weird to the rest of you, sorry, rest assured the Corazonix blorps are just here to point at things for now.]

A false wall, perhaps... we might want to move the plants and see if there's a hidden switch somewhere.

[ !!!!! Password acquired. He doesn't know what this is for but it looks important. It's his now. As is the trailmix.

He's pawing through the receipts and invoices while the others dick around. He also takes the names and numbers sticky notes just in case those are important for something. Assuming he doesn't find something worth looking at in the pile, the fucked up victory jingle catches his attention and then...





Oh god is Dad's hand stuck in the wall? ]

[He's fucking fine, everything is fine he meant to do this- oh god he's up to his fucking elbow in this wall and has dropped his staff so now he can't see.]

[He plants a foot on the wall and the shadows around him start coming alive with his NOT panic. Thank you he's fine!!! Fine!!!]

( this is his succulent now. but before he can investigate it, shadow milk gets shadow moored and, that seems... how do you say... bad.

he's going to take it but he's specifically going to put it in thorns' hands before walking over to the wall. )

[ Tucking his spoils into his himation before hurrying over and picking up Shadow Milk's staff, turning it so he can see what's going on. ]

Couldn't we get it to let go with magic?

[ Mizuki is busy fiddling with the computer, putting in a lot of different inputs in hopes that it’ll give him something. Eventually, though, while everyone is busy with the wall, he’ll finally give up and go join them in the great milk catastrophe.

Mizuki pulls his phone out to communicate this time. ]

I have a very slippery mucus that excretes from my tendrils, if you think maybe like… a combination of Shadow Milk Cookie’s shapeshifting and some lubricant and some magic might all work really well?

[That sounds very gross actually but it might have to work.]

[Also thanks Pav, now he can kind of see what's going on. Oh god that wall is Bad. He tilts his head towards Sidney to acknowledge him, but there is a strange undercurrent of panic in his voice. Like whatever is happening here is affecting him more than it probably should! Like he has a terrible fear of being trapped or something!]

Jelly's got a point! I can turn into a snake, but that will positively doom me if this wall sucks me in as a result of not having limbs. Think you can hold onto me tight enough?
