[in the middle of the night, hastily scribbled words come across the netbook with the urgency of someone who really doesn't want to forget something.]

blizzard — cave in the mountains — nearing the peak? campfire dying, supply wagon visible but no one here

important:

sword, snapped, broken glaive stuck in ground

flowers blooming in the snow

glass ball, broken — crystal ball??

tree with unshed leaves

scarf, shimmering thread — looking at this prompted inhuman shrieks in the distance

skull, bestial, tentacles stuck into the eye sockets

orb of light — one of the few sources of warmth in the cold

golden scale, shielding the area from the storm

objects depicting a sun, moon, and half black sun — floating in the blue glow of a staff ending in a dreamcatcher — growing dim — trying to stay lit

[there's a period of time before an addition is added]

Hello— for those who have met me, this is Astrid. I have been known to have prophetic dreams; some straight forward, some less so. This was one of the latter, and I didn't want to forget the details upon waking up.

Unfortunately, I haven't been here long enough to accurately interpret what I've seen. Maybe we can all come together and figure this out? I'm worried it could spell ill fortune.

I've had prophetic dreams for years. This one is new to being here, and I think related to here specifically.

What makes you think they're prophetic? Is it like one-to-one events happen that give you deja vu, or symbols and stuff?

Both, and I can feel the difference between a regular dream and a prophetic dream. Some of my abilities revolve around dreams, so I'm quite confident I know what this is.

Yeah, sorry, I know lots of things are possible here. I just still have trouble with things that aren't, like, you know, outside of what people would consider rational.

"Rational" is very subjective. But also I understand, magic and abilities like this didn't exist in my world at first, it's only been around for the past few generations.

I will say... I've never had that kind of dream but someone here knew enough about my life and the things that would or could symbolize things about it to leave me clues that they were when I got here

Our captor, probably. He apparently likes to antagonize us.

Do you think that's the force sending the dreams? Both here and where you came from?

Here? Who knows, but I don't think so. Where I'm from? Unlikely. I don't see why he'd be actively trying to aid me and my community, nor have I heard anyone mention they thought his power extended that far.
