[OPEN] elsword's housewarming party!
Who: Elsword & You
What: Housewarming party!! Snacks!! Mysterious river noises!!!! A mushroom probably!
When: Early August, in the evening
Where: Elsword's house :D
Warnings: frat boy party stuff probably
Elsword has been building a house. And, when August rolls around (time is weird here, just go with it, it Feels like August ok) he manages to complete it. Which means...
a) moving really shitty furniture into the actual rooms, sorry this is all the Shopkeeper could spare, he'll buy and/or make nicer furniture later
b) installing a chandelier (dangerous!)
c) going around to the grove's residents to ask if they want to live with him
and
d) inviting people to have a "housewarming party", and explaining "I've never had one before but it sounds like fun" (you are here!)
There's food aplenty (mostly fish) cooked up and ready to eat, and the Shopkeeper has provided further party snacks, which is a fun way of saying there is a single large bowl of pretzels on a coffee table that looks like a halved tree. There are apples picked from the apple tree by the river's edge (Elsword has already thanked the forest for those). There's water. It's not the most extravagant party food, but there should be enough to go around. Just be sure to share with your fellow housemates and/or current partygoers, please, it's only polite.
There are games, too, but not anything too exciting. Elsword doesn't have any board games, and video games are a myth where he's from, so you'll all be playing verbal games like Two Truths & a Lie or Truth or Dare, which may or may not devolve into the most fratboy shit ever. There's no liquor here to make you immune to questioning your life choices, after all.
Outside on the patio are some of those awful, terribly uncomfortable plastic chairs likely pulled from the back of the General Store, but at least you can sit down and enjoy the sounds of the river nearby. The rushing waters, the sound of something croaking, maybe some gurgling... it's all very normal. There's nothing happening in the water. Elsword has even tried to create fake fireflies outside by using some of his magic to make little yellow orbs that float and bob in the air. It's quieter than inside, too, and is a nice escape from the partying. A relaxing time.
At the end of the night, after everyone has partied out, Elsword takes to cleaning up. He'll tell you not to worry about it and just let him handle everything, but if you stick around to help, you might find him staring into the shards of a mirror.
[OOC: hi this is a mingle. please do the mingling. do not kill each other. ty.]

Sorry. I still don’t quite get it I’m afraid, Ehehe…
I’m glad you’re able to make tough choices, though. It’s no wonder the Doctor had made you a team lead before.

He affords a raised brow at the latter comment and leans back in his chair. The wood squeals in protest, cheaply-made as it is.]
Fieldwork is hardly my niche. I prefer to be in my lab.
[Well. It's not really "his lab" anymore, as the public lab space has to be shared on the landship — but still.]
That said, I am Karlan Trade's CTO, and any decisions Enciodes chooses not to make regarding items in that area fall into my lap.
[There are also the decisions that he gets to make himself, as CTO, but he's far removed from it now. Villain of Kjerag and all that.]

But, man, would it make him feel really good for Gnosis to surmise Mizuki had a completely normal upbringing had he told him. The glow he would've had that he manages to present himself in such a way would've been immense. ]
Ehe, I'm not smart enough to be chief of anything. Maybe some tech-y stuff, but I only know how to troubleshoot a computer and that's about it...
But, I guess the trolley problem is probably not all that fun for you, in that case. Do you mind if I pick your brain with some game theory, instead?
no subject
[game theory... please don't ask him Minecraft questions, he's like 35 and from Kjerag they don't HAVE Minecraft in Kjerag]

It's the prisoner's dilemma. Hypothetically, you have committed a crime. You have a partner involved — one that, for this theory, you'll have to assume your relationship with them doesn't matter, so they could be a total stranger — and the both of you have been caught. You can not confess and stay quiet and serve two years of containment. Or, you are giving the option that you can confess and get off completely free, but you are condemning your partner to serving 20 years. Your partner has been given the same deal. If you both confess, you both have to serve ten years. Do you confess?

Gnosis manages, just briefly, to have a flicker of emotion rise to his face. He did, in fact, live this. Very recently did he live this exact scenario, minus the prison time. The threat of imprisonment truly was always hanging over his head (though Enciodes likely would bail him out) — and the question touches on something very real.
Gnosis folds his hands in his lap. Then, calmly:]
I would confess.
[Regardless of who his partner-in-crime is.]
no subject
With all that said, he still wants to know Gnosis' reasoning. Out of nothing more than a wildly insatiable curiosity. Was it mathematical? Was it self-preserving? Rational? Untrusting? Pressured? Guilty? Or maybe Gnosis would surprise him… ]
Why?
no subject
That said, were my partner-in-crime to say first that I should not confess, were we caught, then I would not. That is assuming we plotted this out in advance.
[He is not someone who doesn't plot in advance, but it's worth mentioning.]
no subject
[ Not that Mizuki is saying "be distrusting of people" because he is the last person in the world to suggest that, but that's also kind of sort of the entire point of this thought exercise. ]
I think it's really kind of you to say that.
