crumbl cookies but in real life
[ The handwriting that shows up in the journal is... not new, not exactly, but decidedly... well. Careful and precise as can be, but it's very clear that the person writing it is not currently writing with their dominant hand. Either that, or it's someone with horrible handwriting. ]
Hello. This is Clotted Cream Cookie.
Pardon my handwriting. It is, admittedly, not as clear and practiced as I'd like it to be. The forest has taken my arm from me.
I am looking for anyone who has experience in... this. Losing an arm. Adjusting to the loss in day to day life. I'm afraid it puts me at a considerable disadvantage.
[ If he sounds like he's taking this well, it's only because he's practiced it. He's not. ]

i heard a while back you went missing
but usually this sort of thing dont happen unless you died
[Not that he's outright asking if you died CC but
he also kindof is-]

I'm still unclear about how long I've been gone. It feels like a blur, and like no time has passed at all. I'd followed the river to the lake, and then something in the water attacked me. I remember trying to fight it off, and then
I woke up in the Garden.
no subject
yeah.
thats where I woke up too
I dont really have any good advice for you for how to adjust since we lost completely different limbs
but I can tell you one thing
it helps to not stop trying to do the same things you did before
even if its hard
youll start to find new ways to adjust.

Doctor Add is out, so the clinic is unmanned currently. If you meet me there regardless, I can take measurements and build you a prosthetic, if you'd like. Otherwise, I'm available at the lab for physical therapy, or something like it.
no subject
I would greatly appreciate looking into a prosthetic, if you don't mind. I will make my way to the clinic, then.

I... see. Thank you for telling me before I tried to step outside. Please forgive me if you arrive long before I do. I will try my best not to get lost.
no subject
If you do get lost, just say so and describe where you are. I can assist with telling you where to go from there, or meet you halfway and guide you.

Clotted Cream hasn't been up and about too much until the last day or so, simply because he hasn't felt like it. His body has been in recovery, and he has needed rest. But he's feeling restless now, particularly because he's had trouble sleeping after all that's happened.
Tonight is one such night. Nightmares have rendered him unable to sleep, and so he's walking toward the kitchen to fetch himself a fresh glass of water. All this laying about has left him feeling a little dried out, and the pitcher left at his bedside is long since drained of its contents. ]
no subject
But the circumstances changed things. As the only former cookies here they only had each other... and while he doesn't like Clotted Cream much, he feels a certain... responsibility. As a King and an elder, even though he isn't his subject.
... plus Vanilla cares about him.
When Clotted Cream walks into the kitchen Cacao is there, reading by candlelight at the table. Pure Vanilla is, for once and blessedly, asleep, and he didn't want to wake him with his own insomnia.]
Good evening.
no subject
Clotted Cream did not expect company, particularly the company of Dark Cacao, who seems to be... having a good enough time by himself? The king has always been a little difficult for him to read unless his mood is strikingly - ha ha - obvious. But he won't be rude, either, particularly when there seems to be some sort of ceasefire going on here.
So, he clears his throat, dismissing his brief startled expression, and moves further into the kitchen. ]
... good evening, Dark Cacao Cookie. I, ah... see that you are unable to sleep, as well?
no subject
[as if that explains everything- why he's sitting on he otherside of the house in quiet and near dark like a lonely ghost]

I'm not sure what advice to offer, but I'm glad you're back. You were missed.
If you ever need any help, I'd be glad to. I'm staying with Vash and Wolfwood now.
[... he doesn't recall if they spoke over netbook before so just in case --]
It's Livio.
no subject
But thank you very much for the offer, Livio. I appreciate it. If nothing else, I would appreciate company. The more that I write, the more it will help me to strengthen the skill in my remaining hand.

[god, what do people even talk about casually? hm...]
Are you getting enough to eat?

[ The question is a little surprising, though, but... well, considering he's just announced his death, more or less, he probably shouldn't be surprised at all that someone might be concerned about his wellbeing. ]
I believe so, yes. My fellow Cookies have been quite kind in helping me, although the food here isn't exactly what I'm used to back home.
no subject
I will say I'm not the best cook around, but I've been practicing with some cookbooks from the library.

How are you feeling?
no subject
So, bed is where he is when Pure Vanilla enters with... packages? He tilts his head, ear fins perking forward. ]
I'm alright, I suppose. A bit dried out... I feel I'm a bit overdue for a soak.
[ But in the tub, maybe. Not the river. Not yet.
The two parcels next to him are gently gestured to. ]
What are these...?
no subject
Might I suggest adding some fruits or vegetables to the water as you do? It should help you absorb nutrients.
[ Considering Clotted Cream is aquatic, and thus probably absorbs more through his skin than the others do. The question makes him smile and he settles himself down at the foot of the bed, setting hit Staff aside and gesturing for Clotted Cream to take the packages up. ]
Gifts, my friend. For you, so please, open them as you desire.
no subject
Mm... Do you think that would work? I suppose it's worth a try, at the very least, so long as we have the fruits and vegetables to spare.
[ The indication that they are gifts shouldn't be needed, considering the fact that Pure Vanilla set them down beside him, but it's surprising nonetheless. Gifts, for him? Clotted Cream may look a bit weary, still, but his expression pulls into something genuinely humbled. ]
You certainly didn't have to get me anything, Pure Vanilla Cookie. But... thank you.
[ It would be rude not to open a gift, of course, so he lifts one package to set it on his lap, then uses his forearm for support as his fingers work at the package. Admittedly, he is curious... ]
no subject
It most certainly will, skin is quite porous, and being half aquatic means you absorb through your scales as well.
[ Someone's been reading all the books. He smiles and waves a hand to not getting him anything. ]
Nonsense, it is actually quite over due.
[ I have no idea what exactly Amity will pick out in the long run, but the first package is easily unwrapped to reveal a new formal outfit in the familiar colorings of the republic. It's been designed to accommodate a prosthetic arm as well - sleeves will button up should there be nothing there, but can be unbuttoned and rolled down to cover a prosthesis and look like a normal shirt.
The design is still somewhat of the Grove, of course. ]
