I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, I guess, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Awesome, let me gather some stuff up and I'll meet up with you. Where do you hang out? The Inn?

[alphacraft]

I've moved out of the inn, actually. Perhaps the cafe might be a good place to meet?

[ghostharasser]

The cafe is great! I'll be there in a few!

[True to word, Dipper has gathered all his stuff up in a backpack and scurried over to the cafe. He works here so its not like its weird for him to just turn up here and dump his stuff all over one of the booth tables. Depending on how long it takes Odile to get there he's already got coffee.]

[ Odile moves rather slowly just in general, but soon enough she has a cup of tea, her notebook and a pen. She does raise an eyebrow at the sheer quantity of stuff that's been dumped over the table, though. ]

Hello, Dipper. I hope I haven't kept you waiting.

[ghostharasser]

[You should see his uncle’s workbench if you think this is bad, Odile. He does have everything laid out purposefully, though.]

Nah, just enough for me to get everything organized.

[He will move a book over so Odile has space though.]

So! Where do we start?

[ It looks a lot like her desk when she was a student getting ready for exams. She just hopes they're organized well.

She sits, setting her tea down to open her notebook to a new page. ]

A brief summary of the locations and course of events, I think. You seem to understand the logic of our coming here, but from my perspective it still feels as if I was simply knocked out and dragged halfway across the world.

[Alright, so that's close to the beginning. He thinks for a moment, tapping his pen against his chin, before he reaches for one of his older journals, the one with a 1 written on the front. It ...looks like it's seem some shit.]

In that case, let's talk about the multiverse and the concept of other worlds really fast. That might be where we really need to start so this all fits together. Judging by conversations I've had with others from your world, I take it you guys have a good grasp of the cosmos. Like, you know the world is just one planet in a larger universe, right?

[Loop is a star, so he assumes they have some knowledge of what's out there, though he knows from a technology stand point they're a little behind.]

[ She frowns at him. Cosmos? Planet? Universe? 'Planet' is... the world, if she remembers the translation properly. 'Universe' seems familiar, but...

She shakes her head. ]

I'm afraid you've lost me.

[ghostharasser]

Oh.

[He assumed wrong! Welp!! That's what he gets for assuming!!]

[He pauses for a second and then snaps his fingers.]

Okay, let's try this at another angle. Does your world have a concept like the spirit world? Or maybe the land of faeries? Or maybe even just the concept of The Veil.

[ Okay, she's read enough fairy tales that she's more familiar with the concept of faeries than anyone raised in Ka Bue has any reason to be. ]

In some cultures, yes.

[ghostharasser]

[A starting point, awesome, Dipper can work with this. He grabs a clean sheet of paper from ??? somewhere on the table and starts to draw up a diagram. It's a circle labeled world and another circle labeled "Spirit/Fae" and then he draws a line between them.]

So, the idea is that these worlds are totally separate, yet still thinly connected through the veil. You can't travel to them easily and they exist on top of each other while not being able to see them, right? In some cultures they're even considered mirrors of each other.

[He draws again, this time a circle, and then another circle, and then another circle, and he draws lines between them all.]

So, the idea is that there are more worlds than just the one you know and the spirit world. There are in fact, a near infinite amount of these worlds coexisting beyond the veil. Some of them are super similar to the world you know, where the difference could be a world where your favorite cookie is different, to being so different that everyone in the world is a cookie. Do you still follow me?

Infinite worlds...

[ She's staring at the drawing as if looking through it, gears turning and thoughts arranging themselves in her head. ]

Infinite possibilities. All connected... by what?

[ The idea of the Veil is pretty limited. There are only two sides. ]

That's what we call the Multiverse.

[Dipper's drawing of a circle and a line and a circle, and a line becomes a grid of lines and circles. He taps those thin lines dividing everything up.]

Think of it as an In-Between realm that thinly connects to each world. This is what my Uncle got lost in for thirty years. It's also where I posit places like this world might exist, as nexus points that sometimes draw in people from other worlds.
