Netbook, closer to the start of the event, Event CWs apply
I DUNNO HOW MANY OF YOU ARE ACTUALLY STUPID ENOUGH TO GO OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW BUT THE PINES CABIN IS SECURE IF YOU CAN'T GET TO THE INN. IF YOU DON'T KNOW US ALREADY WE'RE THE BOARDED UP ABANDONNED-LOOKING PLACE NORTH OF TOWN, EDGE OF THE WOODS.
WE ARE NOT FUCKING AROUND WITH THESE STICKBUG FREAKS. WE CAN AND WILL SHOOT THEM DOWN FROM THE WINDOWS THAT'S JUST HOW IT'S GOTTA BE.
[Anyone who approaches will find some of the boards near the front door have symbols painted on them - A circle with an X inside it, Child-like house with a line through the door, and one that Stan's made up for the occasion. Both netbook replies and action are welcome!]

action;
Well. That's weirdly helpful in its own way! And kind of flattering? But still, he clears his throat.]
Hey, uh. You know it's dangerous out here right now, right?
[He's going to be so goddamn stressed if something tries to take a bite out of this cat.]
action;
Of course I do. That doesn't change that I've got work to do.
Re: action;
Oh yeah? What sorta work is that? Playing with sticks?
[Because it sure looks a lot like playing with sticks.]
action;
Even with her fur on end she still looks far smaller than even most house cats.]
Playing? Bah! Can't you see this isn't a game?
action;
Easy, easy! I know it's not a game. Too many weird bug monsters for that.
[But she's pretty determined and he has a feeling he knows what she's up to, so--]
You, uh. You...need a hand with that?
action;
I can't keep you safe out here, Fiver. Those sticks don't play, you know.
[It isn't an outright rejection though. The work has been long and tiring, and she still has a way to go.]
action;
[He raises an eyebrow. The dots connect instantly as to where that could have come from, but it's still bizarre to hear it from this little cat. It never quite stuck like Sixer did anyway, but at least she's not calling him one of his dozens of aliases he only half-remembers.]
Anyway no, I know that. But I can keep you safe while you're here.
[He jerks his thumb behind him, to the boarded up cabin with all the hand-painted signs. He's still in the doorway, because he's not stupid enough to just leave it open and unguarded.]
This is my house and they're not getting in there. If anything comes out, I can just scoop you up and run inside.
action;
[It isn't really a question.
She does give his offer consideration, eyeing up his legs. They could certainly move faster than hers if they needed to, though she's found little trouble avoiding danger so far.]
You can help. You know the shapes enough not to get in the way.
[She says, as though she didn't learn the pattern from his own sign.]
action;
[Ah, but he's walked into the obvious trap there - Cy isn't exactly a "person". Stupid loopholes.]
Of course I know them! I made them! [He gestures to the nearest sign with his handiwork.] What, do we need more?
action;
[In fairness to people, Cy isn't on the level of most other cats either.
As for whether the sign is needed, the tabby blinks slowly, looking puzzled.]
Don't you want more?
action;
[He's not above taking a jab at his own species (if he can still call it that, but that's getting a little more complicated than he feels like getting into with a cat).]
I mean, I thought I was pretty good, but you're the expert here. If you think we need more we can make some more. And...I dunno, maybe some canned meat inside after, if you're hungry?
[He leans in conspiratorially, gesturing back to the house again.]
Between you and me, it's a pretty good place for a nap too.
