I. It's a mess I won't make anymore (Open; The Inn)

[ There's a note posted up on the wall of the inn in blue pen. It's neatly written at first, with curly handwriting, but it starts to wobble towards the end. ]

I don't know how to get everyone together, as these sorts of things aren't usually my forte. I suppose I could go to each of you individually, and it's what you all deserve, but I'm not an emotionally strong sort of person. For that alone, I'm sorry.

I want to apologize to those of you affected by the hallucinations of the flowers. I should've handed out antidotes to all of you before anything like this happened. I should've been more careful about the toxins. I should've done a lot of things.

[ Mizuki will hole himself up in his room for a day or so after this. Apologizing… hard. Talking to people… hard. Hhh. Anxiety— ]

II. Like a thousand times before (Open; Wherever)

[ You may catch him in better spirits later, though. He's happily applying stickers to the doors of people he knows with some sort of association he has with them. He has a variety of them, so it's not hard to match colors or themes or whatever else he sets his little heart to.

His own door is smathered with blue stickers and ocean waves. He's also spelled out "M I Z U K I !" with blue stickers, too. Maybe you'll confront him mid-stickering your door or someone else's door? Maybe you saw the stickers and just sort of knew… ]

III. And in the times that I wish I was younger (Open; Wherever)

[ There's a jellyfish holding your hand! Where did he come from, he wasn't there a second ago— ]

If there are memories so bad that they can send you into miserable states just from being slightly reminded from them, do you think there are memories so good that they can do the opposite…?

[ And he, unfortunately, genuinely means it. He opens the door for her to join him, already in much better spirits than he was moments ago. ]

[ BB skips into his room and - jumps on his bed? She starts bouncing her little butt on it. ]

[ I don't think he turned off his game - ? Well if he did she at least sees the console. ]

[ It's simply paused, though he quickly goes to sit next to her and unpause it to show her. He's always willing to share his interests with people!! ]

It's something called 'Stardew Valley'. [ Or whatever the Terran equivalent would be called, but let's make this easy on ourselves. ] It's a good game to play if you just want to turn your brain off for a little while... It's very relaxing. If you're bored, though, maybe I could put something in we can both play?

Mmmmm ~~ !! Kinda sounds boring, I'd rather play yugioh or Magic the gathering something. [ She actually hates nerdy shit, but even she would delve into it every once in a while. ] How about you tell me whats been going on in life - and you can just play your silly little farm game and we can hang out.

[ She turns herself on the bed and PLOP, lays herself flat against it. ]

Mmh, TCGs, then? I’ve never really played any of those. Never really had the friends to do so…

But I wouldn’t want to play something without you if you’re here so I can put it on pause for now. I’m not sure what sort of “life” things to talk about. Still trying to figure out what it means to be here at the Grove and my sort of… “role,” as it were…

Besides, we arent gunna be safe for long if things keep going the way they are. Plenty of stuff for you to do.

Pass. It takes all the fun out of it for me if I just have everything. The point is to have a challenge.

[ Mizuki sets aside the console and flops back to curl on the bed. Truly embracing his true form: a couch potato. ]

Of course I need a role. If I do whatever I want, things go awry. I never make the right choices or decisions, so I try not to make them anymore. Having a hero do it for me always goes way better for everyone.

Whaaat!! Its more fun to have everything and do whatever you pleaseeee!!

[ BB continues her epic exercise training montage. ]

Huhhhhh? Living like that is kind of - [ BB attempts to find the correct word - but frankly she cant find it in herself to not over simplify it. ] like a dog. You know dogs are so loyal, they will do whatever you say.

Well, dogs are pretty happy, right? I don’t think I mind that at all if it means I can do good things and also be happy.

Oh yeah? That's really cute, I am more fond of piggies though. They are so much like humans, and are ugly, cute, and so pitiful. They are also smarter then dogs~ [ She turns so that she is on her belly, hands beneath her chin looking over at Mizuki. While her feet kick up left and right. ] Why not just listen to what BB says then? I am not a hero, because I hate heroes [ She love heroes. Actually, she is specifically predisposed to loving heroes. Specifically. A certain type of Shirou-esque kind. ] and they cause more problems then they actually solve. However, BB? She likes to get things done. For instance - with the two of us combined. We could probably find our way out of the forest and figure things out on our own. That way no one else has to worry about it ~~!

[ I am personally going to come and fight BB, pigs are fucking adorable, fuck you- ]

That would be really nice and all, BB, and don't take this the wrong way, but... "getting things done" and "doing the right thing" don't always see eye to eye. The reason I want to listen to heroes is 'cause I know they'll do what's necessary to get to the best outcome for everyone.

That said, you've been really nice to me, and you seem so clever and cheerful. Why wouldn't you consider yourself to be a hero?

[ LISTEN SHE THINKS SO TOO BUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS LMFA. Why would BB take things the wrong way? Now if she wasn't taking this conversation so seriously - on her end. She may have threw a little tantrum, playfully. ]

The ones who love justice for all, who kill innocent people who don't know any better and fight for what they believe in versus what the Hero says he knows is right? You should play some JRPGS, I think you'd like the psychology aspect of them. [ The question he ask is so innocent, her amethyst color eyes. [ Mizuki folds his fingers with BB's after a moment of actually finding her hand to hold onto. There's a small hum as he considers her words. He feels like he should point out that he does play RPGs, and basically every single game genre under the sun, too, but he doesn't not immediately, anyway. While gaming is one of his favorite topics, heroes are and forever will be his #1. ]

The sorts of heroes... They're people that help someone just because they see they're in danger. They're people who know how to make moral judgments, and don't freeze up in the situation of choice. People who understand that sacrifices happen, and sometimes you have to remove someone who would otherwise cost the lives of many. Someone who understands people can change for the better no matter what, and everyone deserves a chance, but also can understand that sometimes the risk of pursuing that could cost the lives of many. Someone who protects and does so because they truly care.

That's the sort of hero I know. She's... ah, she's the reason why I do what I do today. If she were here, she'd be able to get us out of here no problem... [ It's good Ch'en ISN'T here, though. He doesn't really want to wish that on anyone. ] But I think that's something you could do as well, BB.

[ BB knows so little about her little Jellyfish friend!! At the same time, she loves him like he's her favorite accessory on her bag right now because shes insane like that. ]

I don't hide the actions I do to save others behind flavored words of heroics. [ BB grips Mizuki's hand back, rather tightly - lovingly. Affectionately, looking at him. Eyes glimmering a soft hue of red. The detestable feeling of hatred she holds for humanity mildly leaking through. She knows she needs speak her words carefully, less Mizuki infringe on the idea that she is truly an enemy of living kind. Anyway, here she goes monologuing. ]

You would love my Senpai, she is the same way as this Doctor of yours. I hear you speak about them from time to time, of course. I would not compare one being greater than the other. However... Senpai's burden, is a weight well beyond anything you or I can fathom. Countless times she has killed millions of people denying them their right to exist, fighting for what she believes is humanities correct path of history.

But even she doesn't think her own actions are heroic, she knows what it is that she does. As she paves her way to a future - that her actions are sinful. One measly little human, against all of Fate. [ BB is still kicking her feet playfully. She giggles there. Bc lmao fate is the name of the franchise. ] But, ya know.

I agree. I think the sort of heroes that live that way are charming in every way, but even I know heroes cant make the hardest choices on their own. So that is where BB comes in. As the Devilish Hero - what better way to move a world forward, then to become that which every Hero needs?

[ She sparkles. ]

An enemy of course! BB is the ultimate end game Villain afterall. If you truly want to help the Hero you Love Mizuki, then you must become the very thing they have to over come. That way, you get to be exactly what they need and you get all their attention in the end. Most importantly though - you make the world a better place, allll just for them - by defeating their enemies. Solving their problems. No matter what cost it takes - then at the end of it all.

All that is left is you.

In the end, they are all that matters anyway.

[ That sure is a lot of monologuing. For what it's worth, though, Mizuki doesn't make any attempt to cut her off, and instead just listens to everything she has to say. He absorbs the information the best he can and does his absolute best to filter it through his own understanding of the world, which, realistically, he is acutely aware isn't very good. It's why he goes to such lengths to try and convince people to give him orders, after all. But he does think that giving him scenarios where he has time to seriously consider things like this is beneficial for him, at least. Thought provoking, unique scenarios that may one day prove to help him making his own decisions... could such a dream be achievable for someone like him?

After BB stops talking, Mizuki stays quiet for a couple seconds longer, scanning her face, their hands, the ceiling... ] If I may... address some of that. Sorry, it was a lot, I'm not very fast at digesting things like this.

Erm, for starters, I think that... true heroes can make the hardest choices on their own. It's not easy by any means, but I know they know that. Moreover... if the ideal scenario is to add another obstacle for that "hero" for them to become better, I don't think they can be considered a "hero" just yet. I agree that challenging them and giving them situations to overcome and, in fact, improve one's will and fortitude and capacity for decision-making, but... at the same time, I think giving a real hero unnecessary obstacles will impede their progress of making the world a better place, which is the opposite of what I want to be doing...

[ There's a pause as he considers his next words carefully. Not in fear of how BB might perceive him, but rather just... unsure of his own thoughts. There's some contradictory stuff rolling around in his head. "Villains" are evil. His whole existence is literally against that. Yet, all that other stuff sounded so nice...

His eyes no longer wander, clicking directly to match BB's gaze. If he's squeezing her hand tightly, he doesn't notice. ]

I will absolutely never become allow myself to become evil. [ Beat. ] If I listen to their orders, if I do what they ask, if I protect them and if I devour anything that threatens to spread their evil to the world, then I'll always, always, always be at their side. I don't need to be their enemy, I need to be connected with them.

[ And she's patient, unlike everyone else - whether it is within Chaldea or within this strange place. BB has all the time in the world - it is why she told the Master of Chaldea, that in the end when the world has ended (Presumptious of her as the moon cell calculated Ritsuka's success to 0.000000001% or whatever similar to that effect)... BB will be there to take her for her own. So she is patient.

Always.

When he talks, she listens - as any bestie would. Her eyes are on his unmoving, and they flicker a slight bit of red when he gives his thought out answer. Rather then take it as a form of rejection - her own twisted understanding of this moment. Is that he has much to learn, and she should do her best to be a good example. ]

Ehhhhh . . . It is cute Mizuki you are selfish in the sweetest ways, I don't think you should ever change - except maybe just accept the way you are. [ Youre a bad person just like me, she puts that in her mind and assumes as much for the both of them. She does not want to overwhelm his mind, and feels as if she has given him enough to ponder. ] Also, be sure not to eat anything icky that will give you a tummy ache!!!

[ She is still holding his hands, but she forces them around so that his own fingers lay flat now with her own, and she begins to clap them together. As if they were playing a hand clapping game. ]

Accept...? Have I given you the impression that I haven't accepted who I am, BB? [ Quite the opposite. He knows what he is, even if he's not allowed to tell other people. But it's not based on his own judgment! He was just told not to, and he can't really go against orders. He's going to ignore the "selfish" part for now. He knows he is. It's something he's been told to work on. ]

I'll be okay, anyway. I know how to expel the evil. It's why I gotta make sure I eat it so no one else has to deal with it. If you let it fester... it's just better to take care of it when you can.

[ They're clapping now! It's for the best, he didn't need to go squeezing her again because he's desensitized in the moment. ]
