1) Both ceilings and walls perform the same function, as the ceiling forms the structure of a house and essentially holds up the home.

2) An ocean, by definition, is a large body of liquid- typically water- that contains all manner of organic matter both living and dead, and soup is equally a liquid that contains organic matter.

3) Having seen people drink ketchup with my own eyes...I would hazard a guess to say that by definition it is, too, a smoothie.
