Netbook | Some Minor Concerns

Hi! I'm Steph. The whole magic notebook thing is really cute. :)

I'm fresh off the boat, had to get around some super creepy goop to get here, saw several people with animal parts. No offense to said people, but that's a little unusual where I come from.

I figure I've been kidnapped, drugged, or both. I don't really like any of those options, so if there's a 4th, less sucky possibility I'd love to hear about it!

Also: the goop was really gross and creeped me out a lot, what's up with that?

Unfortunately, that is the case. You are the latest in many who've been kidnapped across dimensions. Many of us with animal features are from a world where that is the norm, for instance. Megalomaniac gods are irritating things, aren't they?

I'm afraid I don't have an answer on the mycelium, but it is dangerous.

Across dimensions? Really? You're not all pulling a really elaborate prank? It sounds expensive but I can respect that some.

You're saying that stuff is a fungus? Is it poisonous or something?

What would I gain from something like that? We've been tormented for months, if not years, and you're the latest victim.

I haven't had the opportunity to investigate it, but it causes mental damage of a sort. I've experienced memories of others as if I were there when exposed to it, though. Please be cautious.

Yeah I kind of figured that was wishful thinking... Alternate universe explains a lot more than it doesn't, but wow.

It's nice to meet you. You may refer to me as Passenger. I run the cafe to the southeast of the inn, near the river, though I don't recommend going there right now.

I am one of the aforementioned "animal-people". I would avoid using those terms too much, as we have several people here who are more than likely to go on the defensive... rather, we have ONE person here who will go on the defensive and be liable to physically attack you.

(I do understand that many of us are quite the oddity, however, and take no offense to it.)

I couldn't think of another way to describe it, sorry. This whole morning has had kind of a 'drug-induced hallucination' vibe, you know? Maybe a 'different planet' vibe, since up is still up and down is still down. But like, you don't see this kind of stuff in Gotham.

It's a big city so you don't see this much nature either but that's not the point.

You don't go to a lot of college parties, do you?

I'm afraid I don't. What is a college party?

College is the highest level of school where I'm from. Ages 19-ish and up.

The parties are kinda famous for people making bad decisions. 21 is the age when you can start drinking, so sometimes people will sneak it in to the parties that aren't supposed to have alcohol. Sometimes people will sneak it into the punch without anyone knowing.

It'd be harder to think of reasons NOT to party. Even those mostly don't apply if you're crazy enough.

I don't think there is a less sucky possibility. Unless someone gives us an easy way back then we're here against our will. There's no nice way of framing that no matter how much they try.

[Is there even a they or were they just drawn here through some weird interdimensional fluke? Min-Gi assumes at least one of the strange voices has some kind of involvement, but he doesn't have any real idea just yet.]
